Someone has a really big problem with my quit date being on Halloween

I wanted to know if anyone here at this site has a problem with me having my quit date on Halloween. I did not post my 10 years quit on Halloween because someone does have a problem with anything having to do with Halloween on my Facebook page and this person was a member at one time here and I don’t know if this person still is or not a member here I can’t find that persons page but this person did post something very judgmental so I could see it just before my anniversary on Halloween. I did not get into a big stinking argument over this post on Facebook but it does bother me a lot still because this person has seen me post that I do have a quit date on Halloween and I wanted to know who might have a problem with me on this site so just speak up so I know if I am welcome here or not. I am a Christian and I don’t worship anything evil and I picked Halloween as my quit date because I always had a good time on that day with everyone growing up but still someone just had to say something really judgmental about anyone having anything to do with Halloween as if they are the official spokesperson on religion. I did talk to some people on my friend’s list privately here and on Facebook about this and they don’t have a problem with me having a quit date on Halloween and they are Christians also. This person that posted this made it sound like anyone doing anything on Halloween was worshiping evil. If anyone does have a problem with me and does not want to post here just send me a PM and let me know. Having someone crap on my quit date does not feel good and if I am going to be whispered about every year about this just do it here and get it out so I know I am offending you somehow.

Halloween only means devil worship if that's what you let it mean! People "assign" meaning to things............

In my "world" Halloween is the most favored holiday of them all........possibly even better than Christmas. Kids love Halloween not because they "devil worship but because they get to play dress up all day long AND........oh yes!!! There's the candy!!!! Halloween is a big deal to kids......even above Christmas cause Christmas is sort of "Santa's show".....on Halloween, the kids get to take a HUGE part in the fun.

Days only mean what we allow them to mean. You have a BEAUTIFUL quit going Legend‌     don't let anyone tell you differently.

And............... in my opinion only.......there is too much BS on FB

You're not the only one with a Halloween quit date!  The bolded years below have active/inactive members with Halloween as their quit date. The other years have no reported users who've sync'd their date into the community yet.

Whatever your quit date is we celebrate you.  If someone is giving you a hard time about your quit date please let me know.  No one deserves to be judged or discriminated against for their desire/chosen quit date. Behavior of that kind will not be tolerated here on EX. We're a supportive environment with the goal to help all those who have a desire to be quitters, quit.

I guess this makes me feel really glad that I never joined Facebook.

Certainly I don't have a problem with you quitting on Halloween.  That seems to be a  personal issue with the person who has the problem with it.  l don't care if you're a Christian, a heathen, a Muslim, an agnostic - the fact is - YOU QUIT!   And the day you quit is all that's important to me.  July 20th, Halloween, April 15th, Christmas, Fourth of July, January first, October 31st,  HATEVER.  

What's upsetting to me is that you give any credence to anything this person would say.  Obviously you must hold them in some regard, otherwise it wouldn't bother you.  I hope you can stop holding them in that regard.  They aren't worth your emotional attention.   Anybody being judgmental about the day you picked for you quit day is not someone who is on your quit team. (And I don't care if they're still active on this site.  I'd say the same thing to them right here, right now!)  When we get to the point of Halloween being some kind of EVIL ceremony - well, then there ain't no point in having our kids go out and trick 'or treat.  What the heck are you being fed?  Stop eating it, say I.  Halloween is just a plain FUN day.  The PC, anti-Christian or overly Christian or whatever unhappy antagonistic crowd that isn't satisfied with whatever it might be that each of us is doing or thinking -  has turned everything up-side-down and into something else.  Pay them no never mind.  

I celebrate most heartily your 10 year quit ON HALLOWEEN!  GRRRRRRRR!  (Dander flying here.)

Oh my gosh that is petty as petty can be.  I am sorry and sad Christine you didn't feel comfortable about coming here to celebrate to 10 year quitiversary. Happy 10 years to you.  Be proud of yourself for such a great accomplishment.  Don't let people get to you.  You are one heck of a wonderful lady and don't let people tell you different.  Be the beautiful  lady you are. I know for one I miss seeing out here. Ignore the ones who try to knock you down.  In my opinion those kind of people are down on themselves and try to take others down with them. 10+ years not smoking is awesome, congratulations. Since I joined EX I have had 4 quit dates. My second and longest started 10/31/2017, just another day in my book, not my fault my life circumstances coincides with a "holiday". Of course it would be a day I could easily remember.  My last and current quit, 1/11/2019.... I had to put it on my calendar, set yearly reminders, I am horrible at dates and just know I will forget in a few months what day I quit. I live my life and am proud for what I do and quitting smoking on any day is a day to celebrate. If someone doesn't like it for whatever reason, I won't necessarily rub it in their face, like send a direct message to them, but it's a day I am proud of and I will celebrate it by positing it and letting others who want to,  celebrate it with me. One thing I do like about facebook, if someone posts negative comments on my page I have every right to delete the post.

Giulia  Thanks Giulia for your words on this. I have been slowing talking about this with some and I am glad I did now I was keeping this all in and that’s not good. I usually don’t let this stuff get to me. I think you might remember this person they were here for sure in 2008 and 2009 but I don’t know if you had them on your friends list or not but I don’t see this person now here I looked around. I will put this to rest and not think about it I will carry on.
