Quitting without NRT

I understand that this program encourages using nrt when quitting but I am choosing to forego that. Seems like an even more daunting thing doing it this way. Can anyone give testimony to successfully quitting without NRT?

I quit on 3/1/18. I have been not been using NRT that much because I don't have the finances at this time. As someone that has been sober from alcohol since 3/24/09, I use the 12 steps of AA, this website, calling/texting friends that have quit smoking, using suggestions from this website, prayer and meditation, and staying willing to not go back to the bond age by keep reaching out no matter what during the cravings!

For me, I know my higher power did not save me from the ocean to let me drown in a pond. I got to the point that I am desperate enough to have a better life because what it was doing to my health.
