Just kidding. Actually, the date had nothing to do with it. Unlike most here, I didn't set a date, my date just sort of fell in my lap. I had developed this terrible cough and it just wouldn't go away. I finally decided that I was going to finish my last pack of cigarettes and then slap a patch on the next day and that's what I did. I've been smoke free for three days now and I'm already feeling better about it.
When I tried to quit the first time, I guess I wasn't ready because I wasn't happy about it. I just did it because it was "the right thing to do." Now... It what I WANT to do... and I'm so proud of myself. Has anyone else just finally snapped and said: "Screw this!" and thrown this awful addiction out the door?
