Give and get support around quitting

Keeping promises to yourself

Quitting is a huge promise that only you can keep to yourself.

How do you keep yourself accountable?

I understand the support of friends and family help.

But

internally how do you keep yourself accountable and shoo away the excuses and the doubt and everything?

(sorry I like to format everything to imply an inflection, its in my name lol)

You don't have to crash...keep it in the moment and don't allow yourself to smoke, not one puff ever, keep them away from your face, the only way out is through...all things I have read and heard on this site along with "I don't do that any more."  Your quit, you have to own it and you have to take care of it!  It's YOUR baby.

I just tell myself that I'm responsible for my quit. If I smoke the only person I'm letting down is me. Never forget that there are no good reasons to smoke only excuses. If I get a smoking thought I know that I would rather stay an ex-smoker who thinks about smoking once in a while than a smoker who always thinks he should quit.

Thanks for the advice Freeneasy.  Tomorrow is my quit date and I needed to hear that this quit is my responsibility.  Although I do plan on support and encouragement from the many Ex smokers in the group.
