HELLO ALL FROM N.C.-Just wanted to let you know I have stepped up my quit date for TODAY. No sense in wasting another day of my life. Wish me well as I do all of you. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Lois, I have mixed feelings about the Wellbutrin. Several years ago I took Effexor for depression and it worked great (didn't help me quit smoking but relieved the depression so I could take control of my life again.) I tried quitting smoking in Aug. 2007 and immediately melted down so badly that I knew I wouldn't be able to quit without help. I thought Wellbutrin would give me a double-edge advantage by curbing smoking desire and preventing a depressive episode. Truthfully I haven't noticed any lessening of desire to smoke, I don't feel any less depressed (in fact, I've been much more "touchy" and grouchy than normal) and I don't like how it has affected my sleep/dreams. BUT I think with the patch and the Wellbutrin, I have a better chance of quitting than without them.

I relapsed on my May quit date! My wife continues to smoke, which makes it much harder. I was doing good till she returned from her vacation to go see her newborn granddaughter.
After my bday on the 8th, I'll set another quit date. Have my patches etc.

I quit Monday night. Yesterday was pretty hard, today a ton better. The biggest functional problem I'm having is filling out forms lol! I keep having to fill out applications for membership cards, and bubbles on exams. I've put my last name as my street address and what not.

i'm using the Committ lozenges. They help a bit. Just will power folks. Hopefully I can make it to 4 days.

Day 3 of my quit- this morning was rough!! I was totally stressed with work and starting to itch for a cig. Its true what they say- the third day is the worst! I made it through though and now am much better. I realized that I what I really needed was a break, not a smoke. Still having trouble concentrating, hopefully that will pass too.

60 cigs NOT smoked, $15 saved- woo hoo!!!!!!

I have taken the Wellbutrin in the past. It also made me a bit energetic, hyper. Not for quitting smoking,,,? forget why the doc gave 'em to me. He also gave me a lot of sample Viagra just before I left for a trip up north.
The lozenges help,,,I prefer the patch,,,with a loz when craves get bad.
My problem,,,when I get crazy...when the patch and a loz don't seem to help,, I want to drink to sedate! Bad move on my part !
  Hanging in tho'.

Any ideas how to avoid the first, second, and third cigs first thing in the morning. I get up at 6 and have 3 or 4 before i head for work 7:50. I just can't get away from the morning routine. any suggestions would be a big help. Thanks in advance!!

I'm sure there is more to your morning routine than just cigs, right? Well, I have only been quit for 17 hours now but I have been thru my morning/night(I work nights!) routine w/o cigs once (expert? maybe not). My old routine: smoke.take shower.smoke.put on make-up and fix hair. smoke.make lunch and snacks.smoke.gather up everything for work.smoke w/ hubby before I leave. OK. my new routine was the same but w/o the smokes.just keep moving to the next thing to do.I started a little later so I wouldn't have alot of sitting around time. I am at work now and chewing the heck out of this gum! You can do it!
