Hello there. The patch is nicotine replacement therapy. It is a patch that I wear on my arm that has nicotine in it. The nicotine is slowly released over a 24 hour period. You decrease the dosage over 8 weeks until you are pretty much over the nicotine addictioin. They are available in drug stores, but actually I got mine free on a web site that promotes quitting smoking. It is for New York residents, otherwise I would refer you to it. It doesn't sound like the nicotine addiction is your attachment to cigarettes though. I may be wrong but it seems as if there is a level of enjoyment because it's your time, not family time. Is there something else you could treat yourself with when you leave the house? Maybe your favorite coffee or tea? Or maybe you could just take deep breaths and try to enjoy the clean air you are breathing rather than the poisonous air of cigarettes. I don't feel as if I'm being of much help to you but if there's anything I can do, just drop a line. Take care & have a nice day.
