Help! Can't create profile

Well, since I'm 50 something, maybe this is the group I need...

I've been trying to create a profile to get started on the program, but I can't seem to enter any personal info on that page.

I haven't received any help from the "community site help" group, so I'm turning to all of you. Thanks...

Wow, it's too bad you started smoking again after 9 months. 9 months in the hospital is such a long time! I think Julaine will find her way around. This is a very good place to get support. I am constantly checking my e-mail to see if I can help anyone or if anyone wants to help me. Down to 3 to 5 is pretty good! Now, if you can just find something to substitute for those few and you'll be there! I use the patch and it works wonderfully. I think you are about in the last stages so good luck to you. If you can cut back to that little smoking, you can cut it out all together! Just believe in yourself and think how much healthier you will be. I will be smoke free for 3 weeks tomorrow and I plan to stay that way. All the best to you & good luck - have faith in yourself and you'll get there. Take Care.

Hi Julaine- Are you finding your way around yet? On the right hand side where you signed up to be in the over 50 ex's is where you sign up to answer questions, or join groups in other areas. I was at a loss too and then just kind of played around with it. If you want to stay in a group & talk to certain people, just add them as your friends. Community site help is weird isn't it?

That is a very sweet message--Dear Lynn,
What is this patch thing? How do you get it?
I must try that if it works-----
You see my family works as a deterrent--So long as I am home i don't smoke--the moment I go out i feel i am free and enjoy my freedom with smoke--
I used to smoke 15 to 20 since 1970---and then after i had this kidney tumour--it took the hell out of my life--we had a tough time--my family was a big support all these days---

Hello there. The patch is nicotine replacement therapy. It is a patch that I wear on my arm that has nicotine in it. The nicotine is slowly released over a 24 hour period. You decrease the dosage over 8 weeks until you are pretty much over the nicotine addictioin. They are available in drug stores, but actually I got mine free on a web site that promotes quitting smoking. It is for New York residents, otherwise I would refer you to it. It doesn't sound like the nicotine addiction is your attachment to cigarettes though. I may be wrong but it seems as if there is a level of enjoyment because it's your time, not family time. Is there something else you could treat yourself with when you leave the house? Maybe your favorite coffee or tea? Or maybe you could just take deep breaths and try to enjoy the clean air you are breathing rather than the poisonous air of cigarettes. I don't feel as if I'm being of much help to you but if there's anything I can do, just drop a line. Take care & have a nice day.

Thanks Lynn,I have heard about nicotine patch--never tried it--let me give ita try if it works--
Your suggestion is welcome that i should try and do some activities which give me enjoyment and i remain away from Ciggs.---somebody suggested drink alot of water--
I am glad i came onto this Ex site and gota friend like you---
how is your smoking shaping??
So long as I smoked for nearly 4oyears now I enjoyed my first ciggarette in the morning and then it became three or four in the morning depending upon the tension levels---then your colleagues who smoke also add to each other's smoking--
With a glass of beer and a drink you loved to smoke--
You smoke when you are happy and you smoke when you are sad---
It becomes your constant companion next to your spouse----
Yes in 60s or 70s or till 80s things were cool.nobody ever bothred about smokers--It was during 90s you started feeling like a big culprit---
Anyway--man invents cigarettes,Atomic bomb and casinos--and then finds out ways of how to keep people away from them??
god bless
hugs
