Give and get support around quitting
I'm actually sad...I've only gone my first day without a cigarette. So, I'm a fresh newbie. It bothers me that I'm sad...it's the weekend. Yea, but what am I going to do?. I've always found an excuse to smoke. But thinking of doing things I enjoy without a cigarette bums me out. Why? Lol When I stopped to get gas, I got sad not going in and getting a pack. But I didn't. I got nicorette lozenges instead. surely, i can enjoy the weekend activities without a ciagrette..
Stick with it. Quitting is the right thing to do. It's normal to feel the way you feel now, but in time you'll see the benefits of quitting and be pleased you did.
Congrats on your 2 days. Again, what your feeling is normal. I still have feelings of sadness at times. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on making the best decision of your life and giving yourself the best gift EVER. The sadness is normal...most of us went through a grieving period when we quit. We thought of smoking as a friend...wow, what FRIEND lies to you all of the time and tells you that you cannot get along without him or her...worse yet, what FRIEND is quietly killing you. In some cases, NOT so quietly.
This DOES get easier and you are going to feel better and better as you stack up your days of freedom. Welcome to EX, stay close to the site, it will be a REAL friend.

I was sad at first, too, and UGH weekends were the worst because of no routine anymore! But you'll figure it out and get past this. The fact that you're noticing and asking and posting is very positive! You're motivated. Good for you!
It is not at all unusual to feel sad. Please read the blogs by Dr Hays regarding nicotine addiction (links below).

You've called your quit for a reason, keep working it because you will get beyond the addiction. The recovery will come.
