Give and get support around quitting
Smoking has caused me to have what I call "man voice," which would be fine...if I were in fact a man Sadly I am not & am wondering if not having such a deep voice is one of the benefits I can look forward to after my quit. I realize some permanent damage to my vocal chords may have been done, just curious to see if anyone can report a positive change in that area.
In high school I was told that I had a beautiful soprano voice. I was in choir and even had a few solos (I was already a smoker by then .) I love singing! Unfortunately, I can no longer reach the notes I could then. I tell myself it's because I'm much older, but I know smoking has had a major effect on my voice (I also can't hold a note nearly as long without taking a breath). My speaking voice is a little lower and rougher than it used to be.
I think my voice is less breathy...it's always been fairly low, I sang in the church choir when I was in high school and I did NOT smoke, they put me with the men because my voice was so low. There I was 14-15 years old and sitting with men in their 60's and likely 80's. They LOVED me, hahahaha. I think my voice is lower because of age and clearly smoking but I don't know that it has changed a lot since I quit.
HI Jessica
My 45 years of smoking has not helped my sinus.
Now within 128th days, I have visited a specialist who wants to improve the quality of life issue with my sinus.
Because I have ok insurance, I go to the specialists with my concerns; they either refer me to a specialist or let me know if my concerns will be permanent.
