Day 7...Put To The Test...

I live at a private resort out in the country down a 2 mile dirt road...no stress...peaceful and quiet.  Everyone who lives here gets around on golf carts.  I had to go to the city today (1 hour drive).  Many firsts today... first time in the car without smoking on the trip...I had several stops to make and each time I would come back to the car I had a quick craving...this went on all day!!!

I'm so thankful that I finished Allen Carr's book last night...so I put his instructions to work.  Instead of thinking I am having a craving, I want a smoke, I said out loud that I am so excited that I am a non smoker...it's great to be free...!  I don't choose to inhale toxic chemical fumes into my lungs.  I don't do that anymore! The change in my mind set was so positive that each time I faced a challenge today I was able to get right through it!!!  One last big challenge. I got home and was so happy to be out of the city and off the freeways.  My husband works here at the resort so I thought nothing about him not returning my calls or not home when I got there.

I sat down and turned on my tablet to come to EX and I saw that the office manager had left me 3 messages on messenger.  Michael my husband, was taken to the ER...cut his arm pretty bad.  She said I needed to pick him up at the hospital...the hospital is back in the city... I kept repeating....smoking is not an option...I'm  so happy I am a non smoker...I talked to myself all the way back to the city.

Now we are home and I have a huge smile on my face...I MADE IT!!! I DIDN'T SMOKE!!!  Woo hoo!

I am so thankful that all of you are here...

Yesss!! Good for you having one more day of being smoke free. The craving tests we go through are a daily occurrence. You're now past the physical nicotine crave! It's the emotional or situational crave that will continue to appear and test you. I've read sometimes it's minute by minute or an hour of fighting this emotional or situational feeling off. Also, keep reading as it seems to act as a great diversion. As well as it keeping us educated on why and how to stay smoke free. Keep up the good work! Hope your hubby is on the mend.

Michael's arm is going to be ok.  He cut deep and into a tendon...a hand specialist was called to fix the severed tendon and sew him up.  He has a cast from. Hand to elbow but is in good spirits.  Thanks for your support.
