Give and get support around quitting
I haven't had a dip in 39 days but I use nic mints and I am giving myself approx a month using that and then weaning myself off completely.
Some days are better then others and other days not so good.but,I really stick by the site and read what posts I can find for what I am dealing with at the moment.
Good for you Ron. I think reading blog posts on a regular basis is really helpful for maintaining our quits. You just keep at it!
I see that this group/thread is rather inactive, but I've been looking for something more for chewers, as all the quit smoking sites just feel impersonal to me. So I figured I would post on here to maybe start it back up.
I just set my quit date for October 4th. I am 38 and took my first dip in Jr. High. I chewed Redman and Levi Garrett when I could get it, until that first dip of Copenhagen in high school at the drive in theater. I remember it like it was some kind of life changing event. Oh wait, I guess it was... I've chewed and/or smoked ever since.
I quit chewing and started smoking, then quit smoking and started chewing... I've quit off and on for short periods, but have always given in.
-I want to be healthy
-I want to find out who I really am (I've been feeding myself nicotine for my entire adult life)!
-I want to kiss my wife whenever the opportunity presents!
-I dont want my kids watching me chew anymore!
-I dont want to keep spending the money on this useless crap!
If anyone else is or has been in the same boat, please reply so that we might work through this together.
Yes there are fewer on here who chew but that doesn't mean this can't be a place where you get help and things are personal. I don't know off hand of anyone who has quit chewing and stuck around to pay it forward but I know there are some others who pop in from time to time. KA27 most recently said they were trying to quit chewing tobacco and I've been looking for Ronwv to resurface. I'm sure there are others who are here as well.
And don't count those who have smoked instead of chewed as not helpful to your quit journey. The delivery method of nicotine might be a little different but they might be helpful in helping you overcome.
Glad you're here!

We have more and more people asking about quitting chewing tobacco and other forms of smokeless tobacco. Zyn pouches are one of the recent requests for posts. If you're still checking this email and have some wisdom to share the members of BecomeAnEX would love your wisdom from your quit. Please stop by and respond.
Thanks in advance!
