Anyone ever had fluid drained around the lung?

So nervous today as hubs is having chest cavity drained.  Such a scary thing.  You need your lungs!! Just wondering if anyone has had this procedure and what to expect.  One good thing is smoking is the least of my worries today.

My dear Mom, no longer with us, said it was very painful.  However she recuperated and beat Hospice for quite a while.  She did tell me she would never say yes to go through it again.
