Gary, when I started it, I never noticed the difference either. It was more the change of my attitude and trying to cut back and telling myself I don't need this smoke and the Chantix did make it easier to not smoke as the brain was not getting the message I need nicotine. It was more my habit and enjoying it that made me continue to smoke. I finally realized this after about 12 days and instead of quitting on day 14 that I planned on, I postponed it by 2 days to cut back even more before I quit. Once I did quit, it was fairly easy as the Chantix really does curb the cravings. It's only the habit you have to contend with. So hopefully you have changed your smoking patterns by now and not having one right after a meal or when you first get up, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck. Sheryl
