Nicole, the last time I quit, once I got past week three, things started looking up. I am only on day four now, and I'm using the patch. The patch is dealing with the physical addictions, while I am trying to focus on the emotional addiction. I started a journal this time, listing every reason I want to be a non-smoker I could think of. When I'm feeling down, I read the reasons and/or call a friend. Depression or feeling down is totally normal because for smokers, quitting is like a loss and must be mourned. So, I'm mourning the loss of my cigs, but I'm trying to focus on celebrating my health, kids, and even the fact that I don't stink anymore! I was also thinking today that I don't want to have a cig (even one) because I don't want to go through quitting and withdrawal ever again!! Stay strong and know that this too shall pass!
