nauticalnut2011's Status Update on 01/30/2013

Lisa308
Hi Lisa, I hope you were able to get to jonescarp's page for an explanation of No Man's Land. If not, basically the first 30 days you are all hyped, lots of adrenalin, excited about your quit and your success to date. After a month or so family and friends are convinced that 'you've got this' and the cheering/applauding subsides. Now you start learning to live the rest of your life without cigarettes, more or less on your own. This is where you really need to protect your quit. Craves won't be a day to day occurrence but will come at you when you least expect them. This is your new life and your best bet is to create a new normal for you.The time frame for this stage varies but generally from 130 - 150 days. Sarah used to do a NML blog every Wednesday or Thursday. If that's still happening, try to participate. Stay close to this site, keep doing what you're doing. You're going to make it...congrats on 17 awesome smoke-free days!
