Juka's Status Update on 02/27/2018

Hi,
I'm new to this forum
I stopped smoking CT Sunday afternoon. It's really hard. I can't work, I can't focus I'm extremely angry. I'm closing my eyes and imagine that I'm a dog with rabies that just will tear anyone apart. That helps 🙂

Welcome Juka , Here we call Cold Turkey Smart Turkey.  Quitting smoking is not easy but you have come to the right place.  Start by say I can instead of cant  Please don't bite Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking. You have come to the right place for a new day and a new beginning.. This is all about you and what you are willing to do to be smoke free. Quitting smoking requires hard work.  It can be challenging at times but you will learn that it is doable if you adhere to NOPE not one puff ever no matter what.

Start first, by educating yourself about nicotine addiction.

Education is the key to a successful quit.

Read: Freedom from Nicotine My Journey Home and Nicotine Addiction 101

Welcome to EX Juka, please do the reading that Jackie has recommended, please stay close to the site, drink lots of water, know that this too shall pass.  This is a journey, not an event and we have all been where you are.  We all had to take this one day at a time and when that was too long, we had to shorten it to an hour or a minute or a second.  I don't know what you did to prepare for your quit but it's not too late to tweak it somewhat and do things a little out of order.  READ, prepare, be aware of the stumbling blocks and know that might jump up...the moodiness is your body going through withdrawal, we are all addicts here and we are in recovery, we all want to help you to succeed because the rewards are amazing.  Reach out like you just did and write a blog introducing yourself to all of us...if a crave feels overwhelming, remember that no crave ever killed anyone but NO ONE can say that about smoking.  There are no shortcuts to getting through those first days..you CAN do this, you have come to the right place for support.

Again, welcome.
