Hi Kathy. So you've joined the site and are hoping to be free of this addiction. What are you doing to help yourself achieve that freedom? From what you said below, it looks like you managed to put them aside for almost a week. Are you still smoke free? Smoking is a large contributor to periodontal disease (bone loss in the mouth). With your condition of osteoporosis, quitting is the best thing you can do for yourself. Otherwise the surgery you had done is going to be undermined by continued smoking. We tend to think about smoking all day long when we first quit. Eventually that dies down. Same with the cravings. Takes time. If you read as much as you can on here, you'll learn that you can live without the "security" or "comfort" of a cigarette. It's just a matter of re-training the brain. Lots of us have been successful at it. You can too IF you're willing to do the work. Hope you are. We're here to walk the walk with you. Have heart and keep on!
