The Daily Pledge June 2019

pastedImage_1.png

Happy June everyone and welcome to the Daily Pledge in the Celebrations & Events  community where we can meet daily to take another person's hand and make our commitment stronger.

June has the Summer Solstice, the day with the longest daylight of the year, typically on June 21st, which is my 1 year quit anniversary date and National Nude day.

Did You Know?

There is a term called, June Bug, which is given to many large bugs found in the United States, during May and June. The bugs get this name because the transition of larva to adult happens in this month. These are usually seen in the dark when they are attracted to light.

June is regarded as the luckiest month for marriage! Huh.  I got married in August.  Darn!

There are three birthstones for June?  The Moonstone, pearl, alexandrite.

June Quotes

It is better to be a young June bug than an old bird of paradise.
― Mark Twain

Spring being a tough act to follow, God created June.
― Al Bernstein

I do plenty of support on another forum. Mark just notified me and I came back to respond that i joined this site to help others quit. Honestly, this site is difficult to navigate. Quitting smoking should actually be viewed as making a choice in lifestyle. Wanting to quit is the only way. Learn how to want to quit. Make your list and reasons, read Allan Carr and how you know that freeing yourself from this addiction is possible (navigating this site is harder!)

Mindset is key. Willpower alone is the difficult road to take. It will work but feels like you are swimming upstream rather than flowing with the current. Learning what nicotine did to you, how you can take back control of your life is empowerment. Anyone can be free of this horrible addiction with knowledge and the will to do so. Embrace the idea of being a non=smoker and do not fight it. It can be easy if you truly want it.

I will take your hand, Mark and pledge not to smoke today too. I did stop at Quick Chek...I got an Italian Grilled Cheese and Salt &Vinegar chips which are absolutely amazeballs when you are a non-smoker! I hope someone will still take my salty hand!!!

I encourage you by taking your hand and guiding you towards light and truth. I give you hope and understanding that you can beat this horrid addiction. I implore you to believe in yourself and your capability of regaining control and believing that your are much much stronger than nicotine.

Nicotine is done and out of your system in 72 hours or you can let fear keep you from doing anything and hold you captive for a lifetime. The habit is harder to break and is psychological. Retrain your mind to the truth of how nicotine works and how you can change your routine and dependency on cigarettes. Banish the evil from your life and welcome the good with open arms and heart. You too can be a happy non-smoker!
