Winter Bonfire Is Now Beginning

Welcome! The bonfire is now starting. It will continue through Sunday night midnight 11:59 EST. For those that aren't familiar with our bonfires, the fuel for the fire is your unsmoked cigarettes. It would be your days quit x how many cigarettes that you USED to smoke. You can use this Bonfire Cigarette Calculator to automatically record your numbers to me or you can do it manually. If doing manually, please also include your quit date and how much you had smoked. You can find your days quit here...My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX   Here is a EX Quit Calculator - Google Sheets  if you want to check  other statistics.

Our goal tonight is a standard of 1 million. We usually do more. Our highest has been  2,635,592.

Feel free to post music, food or funny images. Please note that we do have to abide by "no copyright material". This site provides links to free pics . We are also having costumes. What can be more funnier than trying out different figures, animals etc? haha

Here are links that you can use....

1. FACEinHOLE - Who do you want to be today?

2. Man's Face Effects Online

3. https://www.face-in-hole.net/

4. Photomontage of Borat with his * banana hammock * green and sunglasses

If you are mobile user, there are apps that you can use as well.

In case that you don't know how to post pics or videos, here are the tutorials.

I beleive this may be my first born fire...and I amazingly have...20,740 bad boys to throw in the fire.  Boy if that doesn't make ya cringe, that's how many one person inhaled at a pack a day...for close to 3 years!!!

I'm staying close to the warm fire...high  winds...and COLD!

Bring on the hot chocolate!

Night every one!

ShawnP   My computer is messing up so bad now I posted something twice and did not see it and now my comment is under yours and it should be on top of yours.... lol. It keeps saying no internet and then it shows I have internet here and my computer messes up. I got back on for a moment and now my computer wants to play with me.

I messed up.  358 x 30 = 10,740 unsmoked cigarettes to toss in the bonfire not a lonely 358.  I hope you can recalculate ShawnP.

Impressive numbers everyone.  I've mentioned everyone and have included a link to your My Quit stats page right after your number.  This place you can check your running total at any time , simply hover over your username and click the ex icon in the lower left of the pop-up.  If the number you provided and the number in your quit stats are way off. You should check two things.

  1. Your profile to make sure that you have set your avg per day that you were smoking when you were a smoker. If you don't indicate a value we assume 20.
  2. Secondly make sure your quit date is correct. I saw a couple people who don't have the right quit date.  You can get it corrected by following the directions in Re: How do I get my quit date to show on the community?.

If I roughly calculate the active members on the site currently who have synced their quit date I get 2,051,488 days of freedom(assuming the quit dates are accurate). 41,880,039 cigarettes avoided(assuming pack a day for people who didn't indicate how much they smoked when they were a smoker). $19,893,018.53 not paid to Big Tobacco(assuming $9.50/pack). Imagine if everyone synced their quit date and set how many cigarettes they smoked when they had smoke.

The numbers are shocking no matter what!

Probably cause I like data .  And also like to help people stay in the know about their stats. Also when the quit date is correct and Avg/cigs per day is accurate in one's profile then it helps out ShawnP if she has a question with a calculation.

I had trouble with log in when we had the bonfire.  today is day of freedom 22.  so I can toss 330 cigarettes, unsmoked of course, into the fire.  One day at a time.  Smoking is not an option.

Sorry you both missed the bonfire but congrats on quitting and tossing in some unsmoked sticks.  Hopefully you can join the next bonfire and your number will have really grown by then!

I'm not sure the proper adjective here is "whet!"

Perhaps "quell" might be more appropriate.

About the Author
I am 51 yrs old and live in the Greater Cleveland area. I started smoking at a young age. I think it was more peer pressure at that time and just a few cigarettes a day until i became "LEGAL" to smoke. I then started smoking a pack or more a day, using stress as my excuse to smoke more. In reality, I realized after i quit smoking that there is no excuses for smoking. I am approaching 4 yrs next month, but I still have to work to protect my quit. I am here on Ex faithfully helping others and in return helps me. We call it here on Ex "Collateral Kindness" here is a link to my blog, 1 yr later that explained my trials in the the beginning of my quit. https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/blogs/ShawnP-blog/2013/03/14/one-year-later
