Relapsing

Hello everyone. I have had to change my quit day again. I do great for a few weeks then I cave in and buy more.

Why do you do that?

What's your plan for not doing it again?

What do you mean when you say you do great for a few weeks? Do you mean you feel happy and comfortable to not smoke? Do you find it easy and them suddenly, bang--you just want to smoke?

Welcome back. Keep it one day at a time.

Kandy77‌ You have to give us more information...does something happen that causes  you to give yourself permission to smoke?  You have to give yourself permission to smoke.  Instead of that, you need to come here and explain what is happening.  Put the word help in the subject line of your blog and give us a chance to talk you down.  We want to help but we can't if we don't know what is going on.  Have you made a plan for what you will do instead of smoking?  This is a one day at a time journey and sometimes, it is one FEELING at a time.  You CAN do this but you have to commit to the quit.  Read everything you can about this addiction and accept that it IS an addiction and it is very powerful.  How long have you quit for at a time?

Help us out, tell us a little more about yourself and your quit.

Does not matter. Fix the NEW DATE !, and with new mind set and with new resolve !

Once done, do not look back.... Get into journey of quit smoking, which is tough initially, but later you will enjoy the life.

All the best !

Good morning Kandy77   They key word is I "have" to change my quit date again.  I know how hard this is; it took me 50 years to quit.  It sounds like you may be giving yourself permission to smoke again.  That's what we're here for--reach out before you smoke.  This is where your plan comes into play.  What have you identified to do instead of smoking?   Go for a walk, keeping busy, deep breathing--whatever works for you.

It's important not to give up on yourself. Don't let those relapses be a waste--see what you can learn from them and move forward onto a successful journey.  Remember it's one day at a time--you can do that.

You can't smoke to be quit , to stay quit , don't smoke . Excuses are killers when it comes to smoking . One puff is never enough . One puff is one too many .

Reset , Renew  , Re think .

Smoke or keep the quit , only you can decide .

I recently read an article about the icky 3's you face when quitting. Basically 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months are going to be tough periods. Are you relapsing around that 3 week mark?
