Hi is going cold turkey off the Juul possible

Hi my name is Stacey. I’m 52. I use to smoke cigarettes for 15 years on and off. Then when the ecig came out I finally quit cigarettes...when the Juul came out I’m vaping a pod a day.  I really want to stop because now finding out how bad it is.  I’m totally addicted and I’m so scared I’ll pick up a cigarette again when I quit vaping. Just asking for advise.  Thank you

How addictive brain wants us to believe that we have lost something and we haven't lost a thing but

there's a letdown because you aren't getting the dopamine and you're missing your smoking routine./blogs/Thomas3.20.2010-blog/2016/07/29/dopamine-during-the-first-3-months?sr=search&searchId=1794d2f...  Write a goodbye letter. Moving on and Letting /blogs/SkyGirl-blog/2013/07/26/my-goodbye-letter Go, and Quitting Smoking: Help for Cravings and Tough Situations.  This should be enough to keep you busy for a while.

Very good idea. How long has it been for you since you’ve quit

Well I think you are going to feel much better. It’s just a process of recovering from the withdraw. My problem is that I always have the Juul in my hand. And I’m trying to stay away from hard candy. Ugh

Put cut up straws to suck in air in your pocket to replace the Juul.   You can do this.  It is just a matter of not giving up and find what will work for you.  Quitting is doable.  Getting over the brainwashing that you have to do it half the battle.

you can do this .....with support and knowledge just keep reading and posting here about the struggle and today I am going to write my break up letter to the vape pen as another way to say goodbye.  I am also going to carry around my list of reasons I quit in my phone and look at it and revise it when I think of other reasons. I am kind of unproductive with my job, but I know this is a really important few weeks to not cave in to this habit. I pulled out my Beach Body workout videos and I have some other free videos from Amazon Prime Video for 15 minute stretching and work out type activities that get my mind off nicotine - how are you doing today?

Of course it is possible but that starts with you believing it is! There has been a lot of great advice here so far! You must believe it is possible and that you are will do it!

Amlatt‌ being 3 days quit without nicotine replacement (NRT) means Ginny no longer has nicotine in her system. All of the tiredness is about to change, energy levels will start to increase,  and she will start to feel better. Craves tend to peak out at day 3 and windle away over the next couple of weeks. In 3 days, Ginny has set herself up to be successful for the long haul. *Amazing job Ginny!

You are seriously 3 days away from freedom from nicotine. That is an extended weekend like this past one, that is only a part of the work week! Now, that sounds easy, and it can be, you just have to be in the mindset that you will fight and win. Really, the fights are 3-5 minutes, 12 times a day for the first 3 days (averages, you could be more or less). That is less than 40 minutes of hard commitment a day.

So Stacey, as you are preparing to quit, be mindful of those times and triggers that induce your usage. Perhaps don't keep you nicotine slave device in hand; make it a bit of an inconvenience to go take a hit. Delay the urge to go get a hit as previously suggested. Work to set a date and inform EVERYONE!

Finally, when your day comes and you feel like you are going to crack, come here and post about it BEFORE you give in. Then wait for a reply BEFORE you take a hit! If you do this every time, 3 days will be up and you'll be nicotine free too! You'll also find that by the time you get done reading through the response, your urge will be gone!
