One Puff??

N.O.P.E

I read this online and really liked it. I myself like I'm sure many of you have fallen into that I'll just take one puff!! And even if it smelled really bad and tasted like an ash tray we some how spiraled into smoking the same or more cigarettes  cigars etc a day??? Ahhhhh!! Rite  .. so I just really liked The N.O.P.E Not One Puff Ever!! I really have to keep it simple in my brain many days too much running around in there... My tip.that I heard to get through a craving was to suck air through a straw for about 5 minutes mimicking the cigarette. Hope this helps someone out there!! You are not alone. Take it a day at a time or a minute a time

elvan‌  how nice that your daughter quit smoking.  I imagine she did get an earful from you.  If all parents could be supporiave, you quit before her right?

karenjones  Yes, almost two years before her.  Initially, we quit at the same time but she went back to smoking.  I did not try to seriously pressure her, I just talked about how amazing EX was and the wonderful people I met here and the things I was learning about MYSELF and how I had stuffed things down for years and years.  She KNEW my health issues, I did not want her to go through them and I did not want her kids to go through the worrying that MY kids, including her, went through and continue to go through.  I talk about EX all the time, I am positive that I drive my smoking friends crazy but I don't care...if there is anything I can do to wake ANYONE up...it is well worth annoying them along the way.

You are right about the N.O.P.E  my brother told that to me.  Not one puff ever.  I had oral cancer and had the floor of my mouth removed (under your tongue) the surgeon said to me, you can continue to smoke, but if you do, this cancer will come back and it will kill you.  So I quit, it was easy, I was in the hospital for 2 weeks in severe pain with stomach tubes and nose tubes and very weak and lots of pain and my mouth was so sore, you can not imagine. That was my easy quit. I was quit for 5 years and then at a stressful time, someone offered me a cigarette and within a short period of time I was badly addicted, again... this time was very hard to quit.  I started in Dec 4 days quit, Jan, 12 days quit, Feb 17 days quit, and in March I had enough on March 16 last year I quit for good. sometimes even now my addict says, you could smoke one cigarette, but I know I'cant.  I know I am a cigarette addict and it was very difficult to quit on March 16, 2018,  I am not going to lie to myself, it seems to get harder to quit each time.  i definitely do not want to go to my death bed smoking.  This 21 days you have is precious to you,  hold on to your Quit as if your life depends on it, because it does.

Welcome! NOPE a day keeps the addiction away.

Welcome to the non-smoking place   You are smart for adopting NOPE early in your quit!

You see, I was so addicted (almost 40 years of smoking) that I had a hard time with NOPE; felt it was taking away my free will!!!  When in fact it is rather the opposite: it keeps you smoke free, it is what we all want, against my addiction (mistaken with will).

Please stay close, blog, talk to us as often as you can, read the documentation made available to you, you an also go read Best of EX, there is so much to learn here, I believe just enough for anyone to help them stay quit!

Hi And Welcome...Many here including me use the Mantra...NOPE...we are addicts and one puff will lead to a pack...I do like the idea of the straw...thank you for sharing...KTQ ~ Colleen

I live my quit resisting one puff at a time. If I take that puff, I'll be an active smoker again. Therefore, I simply will not. Smoking is not an option.
