Fitbits and other trackers.......Who uses?

Hello!

How many of you are using a Fitbit or other tracker to see how active you are?

I have been using my religiously for 3 years.  Even though I was a smoker, I did workout.

Since quitting smoking (on day 26) my resting heart rate has dropped from approximately 72 to 59 consistently.

This really makes me feel good about quitting.

I would love to hear your stories.

I have been quit for five years --- it took almost three for my blood pressure to go down to a point I no longer need medication.....and my resting heart rate is now still about 67, I think. I have always exercised, too - and am very active.  My Fitbit is dying and runs out of juice every six hours, so my Fitbit reports have not been accurate for awhile.   have another one on the way.....I have not been keeping close watch on the heart rate, but might now!

Congratulations on your 26 days!  Almost to a MONTH! It's great that you are seeing such good health benefits already!

Congratulations on 5 years!  That is quite the feat.  That gives me much encouragement!

Congrats on 26. Sounds like your fit bit has been a good tool for you.

I walk everyday or am active at work or in the yard.

My blood pressure and heart rate had been low normal. I used an inexpensive pulse rate and calorie-burn estimator "watch" year one. I wanted to track my calories eaten because my sweet tooth got all the rewards while I first faced up to quitting.

Thanks for the topic.

Yes, the eating thing is quite difficult right now.  I need to change that.  I ate an entire large bag of chips, by myself over the weekend.  I need to stop! 🙂

Understood. The eating thing gets better. Chips sounds good though!

Hi, I have been quit 2yrs and 9 months.  I use the Jawbone Up3.  I have had it for about 2 years.  I am more active since I quit. I was doing 5K and not having enough breath. Now that I have quit I have more than enough air to breath.  Welcome to EX again.  Enjoy the ride.  Congratulation on 26 days.  It only get better.

Hi!  I have been quit for 98 days and within about a week, my blood pressure and resting heart rate dropped.  I do wear a Fitbit, but do not rely on it too much since the accuracy is far from perfect (ever try just moving your arm and it logs steps?  LOL!)  I gave myself 3 months to focus on quitting vs. working out and now I am back to working out (slowly).  Welcome to EX and congrats on your 26 days!  Check into the NML Weekly Check in and stay in touch with fellow NMLers!  If you don't know what NML is, then please stop by and check out the posts in the thread!
