You can do this!!! The first 3 days are the toughest. Drink lots of ice water and take a lot of deep breaths. Right now the best thing you can do is educate yourself on addiction and quitting smoking. Search YouTube for research. The more knowledge you have, the more you will understand what you are going through and the less fear you will have about quitting. It makes so much more sense and you will start to ease into it. It DOES get easier. I am on day 28, still have some urges now and them, but looking back, I'm SOOOOO happy I made the decision to become a non-smoker and you will be too!

Sounds like you are starting your quit with a fight.  Hopefully you are still not smoking.  Glad you came here for support.  This is a great place to get help to quit smoking.  Are you going cold turkey?  How do you plan to do this.  Are you prepared or are you just jumping in?  Do have a plan to protect your quit once you get started?

Start first, by educating yourself about nicotine addiction.

Education is the key to a successful quit.

Read: Freedom from Nicotine My Journey Home and Nicotine Addiction 101

Here are the links: http://whyquit.com/whyquit/LinksAAddiction.html   and http://whyquit.com/ffn/

I also encourage you to read. Allen Carr’s book, “Easy Easier Way to Quit Smoking”.

Go to http://www.becomeanex.org/how-to-quit-smoking.php#thl and get started.  Stay close and let up know how you are doing.

the "struggle is real".  Consider it to be a challenge that you are able to meet instead of a struggle.  Please do not take the education part lightly.  It is one of the most important things that you can do to conquer the addiction to nicotine.

Way to go on trying to quit smoking! I am in my 8th day. What I found very helpful was that I planned it 6 weeks prior to quitting. I educated myself on dealing with cravings, feelings, slip-ups and everything that goes along with quitting. It is most certainly not easy I still think about it all the time. I just make the  conscious choice not to smoke. I chose an app called smokefree. It's free and it gives you a few things like how many cigarettes you haven't smoked -how much money you saved - health benefits-Etc... check it out if you want- I found it to be very helpful and I use it all the time!
