We had our virtual EX 8 reunion yesterday and we had a blast! There were 20 EX’ers, Mark , and 2 guests (my sister and MikeBurke)! Thanks so much to the committee (Giulia , Brenda_M , Michwoman ) and to Mark for planning our first virtual reunion.
It was so much fun to see folks I had met before at some of our “real” reunions - the 4 friends just mentioned, along with Sootie , shashort , JACKIE1-25-15 , Jennifer-Quit , ShawnP , Daniela2016 , Patty-cake. And meeting the following folks who were “first timers” at an EX reunion - MarilynH , TurboRose , DavesTime , JonesCarpeDiem (although he has Skyped with us at other reunions), PrimeNumberJD (AKA “primenumber”!) Taurusdagger60 , SuzyQ411 , Bonnie , Tanuaj - was wonderful! (Hope I didn’t miss anyone.)
We looked at pictures of previous reunions, Michwoman led us in a memorial moment remembering Sharon (smorgy8513) and Betty froguelady, then in the tradition of SkyGirl ‘s “Blog Sharing” portion of previous reunions - SuzyQ411 spoke about a blog she wrote on the 10th day of her quit, then each person introduced themselves during the “Meet the Avatars” portion - and each spoke about their quit, Brenda_M handed out some very special awards to the “first timers” at the event, Giulia conducted an “Ask an Elder” session and then moved into a repeat of the fantastic N.O.P.E. song she wrote for EX 3 in Nashville -The Nope Song What a treat!
Brenda_M made an award for each of the first timers who were scheduled to attend the reunion - so even if you didn’t make it - send a PM (“direct message”) to me or to her (Brenda_M) with your address if you are interested in receiving your award! They were fantastic! Brenda_M has a way with stickers!! And - she is serious, she will send it to you!
At the end of our evening, Brenda_M led us in a wild and crazy game of “Trivia” - what fun!! Congrats to the “Not Kathy Team” on their win!
We missed those who couldn’t make it! Hopefully someday - you will get a chance to attend a reunion - real or virtual!
