Stopping Smoking During Pregnancy

Stopping smoking is one of the most important steps anyone can take to improve their health, but stopping smoking while you’re pregnant is twice as important.

Smoking during pregnancy exposes the fetus to many toxins including carbon monoxide.  Stopping smoking will help your baby get more oxygen, have healthier lungs, and will increase your chances of having less complications during delivery.

We know that most women who are pregnant want to quit, but some feel guilty and are afraid they will be criticized instead of supported.  Please let your healthcare provider know that you are willing to look at options available.  Surround yourself with people who will support you and look forward to having a happy, healthy baby.
