Welcome to The EX Café 04.05.2017
Good morning my fellow EXers! Welcome to Wednesday! Who's ready for some coffee and some company?
Good Morning, Susan! I am, I am! Coffee and conversation sound great!
How are ya today?
Fix me up something strong please, no cream, no sugar! ~Terrie~
Thanks for opening this cafe this morning!
Hey Terrie! Happy to open the cafe, but am sad to see how much traffic died down now that we have moved to Celebrations.
How are you feeling? Still on the mend?
I can't believe that we are almost out of No Man's Land.... time flies!
good morning Susan! I'm up & at em & now it's time to hit the road. (taking the bike in today ;-)...Make sure you let us know how the maiden ride went on the "purple beast!"
Yes, Susan, we are almost officially out of NML YAY!
Still on the mend! I am afraid this one is gonna take awhile cuz every time I push it pushes back. So..... I am taking it slowly. Can't wait to get out in my flower beds! I am doing better each day! ~Terrie~
That's right Pops never keep it covered in the garage! What a waste! My Dad is 81 and had his trike out for about 4 hours yesterday. He said he's coming to get me as soon as I get well! I am ready now!
Good morning all-
Just stopping by to say a quick hello. Too much work today. I am going to need coffee by IV this morning. Have a great day everyone!
HAHA - same here! Why is it that I am always the busiest on my cafe days? Have a great day, Rach!
Good morning friends and fellow Exers, I wanted to swing by the ex cafe just to say hello and wish each of you a super fantastic Hump Day.
Mike! Mike! Mike! guess what day it is!
Morning, Pati! Just finishing your cappuccino......
How are things in sunny FL? I have not checked the webcam since yesterday - did April have her calf yet?
I don't know, I don't think so. But her friend Orla in at the Chesterfield Zoo in England gave birth today.
It's HUMP Dayyyy . . . . I need coffee
yay, yay and yay for Hump Day for all of the working folks, you're on a count down to the wk end! Susan-M
Indeed it is, Nancy! Hope your knee is better! Here's one of my favorites from the cafe for you.... I will be really nice if you will agree to share, Youngatheart.7.4.12!
did someone say chocolate croissants??!!
I think Nancy probably ate them all - I asked her about sharing and crickets have been chirping since!
(crumbs falling off my chin)
Yep - ALL of them!
Never fear. I noticed the batch in the back oven were done so I brought them out for you susan.m. You know what they say - nobody can eat just one!
Nancy, are you a good candidate for a knee replacement? I have "alot" of friends that have had it done, and they are up walking, playing golf, you name it. Plus, the pain threshold is way down from what it was when they first started doing that. I think the downtime is getting to be quite minimal as well.....I was just wondering....You are not going to be able to kick very many a#$es with only one leg. You need to get that limb back to being useful again.
I have vowed and declared that no further scalpels shall place a slit in my persona! What happened is I sprained the OTHER ankle. When I got a brace for it, I just kept trucking - bundling sticks in my yard, clearing winter debris from my gardens, etc., etc. In retrospect, that was not a very good plan. I made the other knee really unhappy - but this is the first I have ever had any problem with it. There is only a tiny bit of arthritis in it, so that shouldn't be causing this kind of pain. I think there is an inflamed tendon or muscle in there and, if so, this should help (fingers crossed!). I have a dance to go to on Saturday night - and I intend to DANCE!!!!
Youngatheart.7.4.12 for crying out loud, would you PLEASE take care of your knee and your ankle...maybe you should rub some chocolate on that leg! Chocolate heals everything, right?
No actual healing happens, but eat enough and you really don't give a d@mn!!!!!
haha! I'll have to remember that!Youngatheart.7.4.12 elvan
I could use a white coffee and lots and lots of chocolate this morning. Got a cortisone shot in my knee yesterday. No miracles - yet! They still don't really know what's wrong - but the shot is supposed to help most anything.
Thanks for opening the cafe this morning, Susan!
Fingers crossed on the shot.... I have a friend who has them regularly for her neck and she swears by them. Here's a white coffee for you; let me know if you need more croissants.
I hope it kicks in soon, Nancy. I am getting epidural steroid injections again myself. ain't it grand?
(and, sorry, epidurals suck!)
Nothing a little chocolate and dreams of the Aegean won't take care of though.
Or dreams of a Swiss lake in the Alps!
OMG - it was so beautiful and serene!
I'm also dreaming of Big Sur. Wouldn't that be cool on the back of a bike?
It would indeed! We went to Sturgis, SD last year for my 50th birthday... several of our riders left two weeks early and rode west and then up the coast. It was not their first time doing so. They tell me that their very favorite part of that trip is not the coast, but crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on a bike.
I need a cup of strong black coffee! I could have slept till noon today!
I can help you out with that, Jennifer_Quit_05-01-14. You must be plum tuckered out - the train today is mah-velous Freedom Train 4-5-17.
I can relate to that!!!
Youngatheart.7.4.12, We need to be careful so we can carry on with our dancing! I have missed 3 weeks, no more! Get better and dance on! ~Terrie~
Good morning my friends, I have been reading and commenting for a while, time for a coffee break; but don't worry, I'll get my own, so used to serve everyone at my house, might as well serve myself too :-)!
I am sorry you have to go through the shots: c2q and Youngatheart.7.4.12, I had them both: epidurals a couple of times, and the cortisone shots in both knees just this past December. And they always helped me; it takes a little while, but then I regained the mobility once the level of pain went down! Now it is my heel, but no needle or cortisone in there, it is way to painful I'll just wait to pass!
This weekend and into next week we'll have our son's in-laws visiting, so if you don't see me much, please don't worry, I'll be busy cooking and baking, and taking them places while they are in town. Like the botanical garden, wonderful in spring time
I don't suppose you have whirlpool there that I could just get into up to my neck? I am icing and alternating heat to my back but nothing is helping...I don't think coffee is a good idea but I would love some peppermint tea.
Would a nice pool workout help?
Youngatheart.7.4.12 maybe once the pain subsides a bit...right now, any movement under water or on land is worse than I can describe. I am having a rough time keeping from vomiting and crying...my cats look concerned which is not good. My kids have all sent text messages to me asking what they can do...I have no answers right now. I am laying perfectly still except for typing.
I am sorry Ellen, our pool is not heated, but if the direct sun can help, we have plenty of that!
Hoping you'll feel better soon...elvan
Here a virtual one for you
Thanks and a huge hug to you, Daniela! You're wonderful!
Thanks for another great day at the cafe! Be sure to check back Friday and Sunday when Pops and Pati are at the helm! Peace and love!
No worries.....lots of people ignore the closed sign, lol.
