Ahhh .... sweetness, thy name is blueberry. You protect me from heart disease, fill me with vitamin C. We love you so much, someone has declared this National Blueberry Day. Have a popover on us. And don't forget to pledge Spring into March 2017 with a Daily Commitment!
Thank you c2q for the coffee, I almost think we could use a couple of EXtra Huskies up here this morning brrrrrrrr it's cold but I guess it's still March, yuck I just remembered that the clocks spring ahead tomorrow night ugh but none of us Exers will smoke over it.
Yeah, I was just reading about Daylight Saving Time:
"Some studies suggest the loss of an hour of sleep as we move the clocks forward results in health problems, an increase in auto and workplace accidents and increased appetites. Studies also show workers are less productive in the Monday after the time change."
I say, it also means that for anybody wanting to quit smoking, Sunday is the day to do it! One less hour to fend off cravings :-J
MMMMMMMMM yes, I am, thank you!
Let me help you in the back - I bought us some super cute aprons!
And here's one for Pops
That really is a super fabulous idea, for all of you folks on the fence about quitting smoking and Remaining Quit, do the recommended reading and pick March 12th to start your Forever Quit, well I think it's a great idea and so does susan_m , but ugh on the time change just the same c2q but yay for us Exers, I better have another coffee please and thank you.
Thank you YoungAtHeart. That should do it for me. I just have to remember to drink lots of liquids today (not always the easiest to get someone to cover the register when I have to use the bathroom). I feel so much better. Hope you are recovering from your eye surgery.
Wow, back up for air. Peeling spuds is hard work. Thanks for the hand susan_m and YoungAtHeart!
elvan, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. Good to see you this morning.
Hey Pops, I started some cowboy coffee for you before I took up with the peeler, but I forgot to bring it out. It's probably pure mud by now - but that's the way you like it, right?
Yep, pure stupid strong & wreaking.....just no grounds though...yuck, I can NOT do coffee grounds in my cup. My first set of inlaws from Ky used to pour there coffee over the edge of their mugs & let it drip down into a bowl, and they would make sure not to tip the mug so much as to cause the grounds to spill over the top...then they would raise the bowls to their faces and drink from the bowls!!!! OMG! Me being from California, the first time that I saw that I almost died. I was simply aghast. They said that was the way that all of them were raised to drink coffee....I have never seen anything like it since, nor have I ever heard of anyone else doing it that way....so again....NO GROUNDS!
I'm dead serious about it too....and let me tell you something. If you think the visual is hard to imagine, then picture it with sound as well. Both of the father and mother in laws neither had teeth. I mean full on dentures top and bottom. Neither of them would put in their dentures if they were just hanging out around the house (tobacco farm house actually), so the sounds of that coffee hot, and being blown on by their nothing but sloppy lips & no teeth.....yep, it was totally disgusting!!!! It was like a scene from a Rob Zombie movie, or one of the SAWs, or land of a 1,000 corpses....lol. The decisions that I have made in my life based on another woman....oh lord....if you only knew how much suffering I went through with those Kentucky rednecks....lol. I should have known by the nickname of my first wife...her close friends called her "Willie...." Guys...trust me, do NOT ever date a woman who is okay with being called a boys nickname!!!!
Pops
Here's some fresh hot java for The Daily Pledge's own .... my friend and yours .... by special request ....TerrieQuit
It's been a fun day at the cafe. Thanks everybody who stopped by. I hope people weren't too confused with the surprise move.
One thing quitting smoking continues to teach me is to accept change. Breathe it in, let it be. I may not be the fasted learner in this regard, but I do my best.
Quitting smoking doesn't have to be scary. Every little thing I do is better now that I don't smoke. Let me leave you today with this:
quitting gives you your senses back. Enjoy!
Even though my shift is over, the the cafe is open, self-serve, for the rest of the day. You may still run into a friend or two yet. And don't forget to visit Pops on Sunday! He'll be barista-ing around as only Pops can.
Here's a bit of chocolate to take with.
It all looks so good and my sweet tooth is kicking in. I hope the weekend is better than the last two days. Today we're taking my daughter out for a steak dinner for her 46th birthday!! Boy does that make me feel old but she's smarter than her Mom, she quit almost 2 years ago and I'm so proud of her. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and God bless!
Hello EX. It's Friday. So much has happened this week. I"m ready to relax.
