Welcome to The EX Café Sun 02.19.2017
Good morning and happy Sunday!! Someone mentioned quiche this week, so I thought I'd make a few to get the morning started. I have a crustless version in the oven for those of us who are watching our carbs.
Who's ready for coffee?
Hi Susan. The Cafe looks great this morning. I'm just going to hang out on the sun deck with a cuppa and a slice of that quiche! Yum.
Lovin' that quiche. I'll have a large cup of coffee and sit and enjoy the morning while listening to The Firm - Satisfaction Guaranteed (1985) - YouTube on my iPod
I love the firm!
Here you go, Lori. Enjoy!!
Good morning crew!!! Place looks great Susan....I see Lori & Pati out on the deck hogging the quiche....I think I will go join in on the fun....
So hey, did you get any riding in? Or did you spend the whole day shopping for RVs? The weather got up to 73 yesterday, but I had to work....It is going to get up to 65 today, and I have "every intention" of putting my knees in the breeze for the day today. I just let Sebastian out for a walk, and now I am having some morning joe & and quiche' & I am out of here!!! Come sit with us when you get a moment....
Pops, I'm happy to sit with you. We are riding today, and are meeting our friends to head out later this morning. We'll see how many bikes we end up with; last count was 9. People are so ready to enjoy this perfect riding weather! This will ve my first "big" ride with friends as a non-smoker. I love it!!!!
How about you? Did you get a ride in after work?
No, I got distracted, and knew that I was out all day today, so I just chilled all evening. The balcony "PappaSan" chair with Sebastian was nice though....He really likes it now that he doesn't have to worry about me burning him from a cigarette anymore....So liberating not being tethered to that crap any longer....geez louise! I am so very much comfortable with declaring that I will "NEVER" smoke again. I used to always have reservations in the back of my head thinking, "well, I can always smoke just one if I really want one badly enough..." Now, I "know" that simply is NOT going to happen again. Finished, done...it's over with....so gone...so gone!!!
That's my sentiment on todays' plans....
And a great sentiment it is!!!
Keep the shiny side up, Pops!
Good morning all! I'm starting off a little slow today. Maybe I'll sip on some coffee and peruse a newspaper for a bit while my brain takes its sweet time getting to full speed. I'll be out front if anyone needs me.
Sounds great..... here are some papers.
I also grabbed the crossword puzzle for you. You know where the coffee is, sweets....go pour yourself a big cup of happy.
Ahhh fantastic. This oughta perk me up a bit. Thank you!
Homemade waffles this morning at my house. Thought I'd share; secret family recipe (eggless Hungry Jack w/ 1/4 the oil). Hope you're hungry.
Wow, that quiche looks amazing but those waffles are calling my name. I am drinking a cup of coffee and getting ready for work. I have to get moving if I want to be on time.
Have a great Sunday.
Good morning all, I'll sit with you and have some gluten free bread and jam, and coffee, and enjoy the company this fine Sunday morning.
It is still raining in Tempe.. hopefully it will clear up later today.
Never too late to start appreciating things we take for granted: it feels so good to stretch after a good night sleep; two weeks ago I could not do that without starting at least 4 different cramps in my body, but today I can, I am ready for the day:
I'll have a piece of that quiche (WITH crust, please- that's the best part-and any weight I've gained I will blame on this bum ankle!) and maybe I'll change it up with some OJ this morning.
Can we have dessert with breakfast? Wait a minute - we quit smoking - right? - so we can do ANYTHING!!!
I brought some chocolate bread pudding with bourbon butterscotch sauce - oh, my!
I plan to start to picking up the 300+ branches and sticks those 40-50 mph winds brought down from the trees in my yard. Not to worry - I plan to limp/drag carefully and bundle them in my yard wagon. I will do most ANYTHING to stay busy to be happy outside. It's supposed to be in the 60's here again today.
Whatever your plans - enjoy them smoke free!
YoungAtHeart - you have outdone yourself in my book. Amazing. I am stopping in my tracks to sit down with some of that. Thanks!
I took your advice and got out on the scooter today....I went for about 175 miles....headed north to Gettysburg, window shopped a bit, did the tourist thing @ the battlefields, then dropped back down into Maryland through Camp David area...(beautiful countryside). I'll try to post a couple of pics with this post. I am not sure if everyone will be able to see them though....I have google photos and I think that might turn out to be a problem....if that is the case, then I will need to seek other options for my picture library.
40 miles north of my home...
Battlefield Harley Davidson Dealership in Gettysburg, Pa
A bunch of soldiers died in this cut...(next picture) such a bloody war....I live just south of the Mason Dixon line....
Rebel forces were pinned down in this cut, and many of them perished under the blade of the union soldiers..
So I was out for about six hours today. The temperature was over 70 degrees most of the way. Great day...who would have thought that the central eastern coast would be having temperatures this warm in late February...??? Unreal....
Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings - but your photos don't show.
I think i fixed it now. I do not like what I have to do to post from my camera though. Way too many steps. It should work like this though...let me know please...This way, I had to download my pics from google photos to my drive and post them from there.
Hello All----I have not formally dropped into the Cafe until today but I have been reading all of you every day. I have also referred every newbie I can find to come to the Cafe and introduce themselves. Hope that works as this would be a great place for them to get to know the EX community.
Enjoy your day.
Hi Sootie! Thanks for inviting newbies to the cafe. this place is always open. There's usually a barista to serve you, or a friendly EX at the next table to help out. This one's on the Cafe.
Good Morning, ahhh what a great group of EXers here today! I'm going to help myself to some of that quiche, it looks delicious, maybe one of those yummy waffles too. I have a big appetite lately! I am going to just take today slow and easy. Have a hectic week coming up. Great to see you here Sootie! Enjoy today everyone!

Good Morning! Enjoying my coffee. Think I increased my resistance on my resistance band to much yesterday during my walk workout yesterday certainly didn't help. Shoulder blade is certainly feeling it today. Will stay home from church today and avoid the long drive adding more stress to it. I will watch the service online the pastor always has good words to hear and he has a good sense of humor too don't want to miss it. Will miss my special family day but need to care for me so I can keep on going and going.
The play I went to yesterday was very entertaining but I really need to start sitting in the back so I can get up and stand now and then. I just can't sit still! I was a fun day with the ladies.
Have a wonderful day! Keep your self smoke free and get up and get moving!
