This is a little experiment. Trying to use my brain here. Ex Elggers and Elders - Let's use our brains If we're looking for a central location where we can all 'chat' together, so to speak, why not put up a Today's Meeting Place conversation. What do you all think about this idea? And should it be in Blog format or Conversation format? Or will that blow up our inboxes? HA!

So if we wanted to get to someone's "page" like on the previous platform, and leave them a hello, we could simply use the @ symbol in a reply on the daily meeting place page.

I vote for conversations. Good idea - I was thinking about something like this earlier - Marilyn's post yesterday that had so much activity got me started thinking about it. I filter my notifications out usually to only view my messages - so not a bother to me but if I understand correctly, people can opt out of notifications on a particular blog or post or whatever it is- and not be bothered with notifications? Or did I dream that - lol

Wouldn't that exclude the new members who haven't friended the host of the Meeting Place?

  No. Because anybody can respond to a blog or conversation. This would also perhaps be a good place for newbies to easily introduce themselves to the gang at large and/or shout for HELP.

Thomas3.20.2010 There really isn't much we can do about new members until they post a blog or question or discussion. You can (I have learned) send them a badge and include a short message without following each other. I look at all the posting places a couple times a day at least and reach out to any new members who have posted something. I have contacted 3 since the migration - one just this morning.

Giulia, I just responded to your blog post asking for just this, a central meeting place for help, tough love or whatever else will help a struggling soul as she navigates thru starting over on this journey.

I was thinking something of the sort, too. Great minds? Maybe we could vote on where to meet? I think the site folks would prefer we use conversations rather than blogs........
Perhaps anyone could post a "conversation for (date) " if they are the first there in the AM?
Kudos to you for thinking and working so hard to get us comfortable.

This is a good work around, and if there are no improvements to the site layout, I would agree. The best solution would be to change to how content is arranged on the site. It is not hard to change.

Good morning, I left a conversation piece in conversations and hr or so ago around 8:30 or so Atlantic time with no response, hummmmm maybe my headline was wrong I don't know but I gave it a try and asked how everyone was doing thinking that might Get a conversation going oh well!

Good morning friends,
I hope you are all doing well. We think winter is already over in AZ, yesterday afternoon I grilled outside.
Seeing the naturopathic doctor again today, another IV and a talk. Hopefully will be able to walk again, soon.

Oops,oops, and oops again, I went back and checked and I wrote in discussions, not conversations, still no response but that's ok, ugh I'll be really glad when I figure this all out. I feel like I go 1 ft forward and 2 steps back, I think that's my problem that there's too many steps to do just one thing, anyway sorry for my confusion #Giulia and everyone!
