We all have a calling to serve and smoking does get in the way. Since I quit smoking I feel so much better when I witness to others.
Well I'm on day 5, and holding strong. I only had one time where I was really tempted so far. The Nicorette lozengers have worked well for me. I WAS a binge smoker. Did all of my smoking in the car to and from work. Trying to remember to thank God for my blessings each day.
Smoked socially in college. Then half pack to a pack a day. Was going to quit Jan 1, but I found this site. Kept moving up my quit date. Using the patch. Been quit 10 days now.
I'm tired of feeling "dirty" in my Christian walk. It affects my relationship with God, and my witness. It also makes me feel that I have to hide it from other Christians. As if it can be hidden! lol
I started smoking 16 years ago and now I’m 45 and smoke almost 2 packs a day, it’s just so fun and amazing but it’s a killer so I have to quit because I want to be healthy for me and for my 11 year old beautiful daughter, she is my life, I also have a 21 year old son who is amazing and smart and has such a good heart. My mom, dad, brother, sister and uncle all smoke and we live together and smoke outside like it’s a party. I hate it, smoking makes my clothes smell my body smell and I’m sick of it. My mom is 62 years old and has been smoking for 35 years almost 2 packs a day, for the past 3 years she has had a cough and past 2 months her cough is very bad to where she can’t sleep or even hold a conversation because to busy coughing. so about 3 weeks ago I dragged her to the doctor office and after some tests doctor said she has early stage emphezema, I’m very sad about it so I talked her into starting Chantix with me and she agreed. So she started first about three weeks ago and I started two weeks ago but she was very sleepy and always nausea and today she told me she can’t take Chantix anymore. She is only smoking about 5 cigerrets a day now and was planning to quit completely by this Monday but I’m very sad that she is stopping Chantix because I love her so much and don’t want her to smoke. I decided I am sticking with my Chantix and I’m going to quit smoking and be a good role model for my mom and my kids, but I have to say it’s hard and I love reading stories on here. Wish me luck and good luck to all of you
You are on the right track, continue to do what is right and best for your health. Being a role model will help when she sees that you can she will too. Don't give up.
