An Innocent Question

Yesterday I was putting new batteries in one of the kids' toys that made sounds. As usual, my three year-old daughter wanted to try and help out and reached for the Phillips screwdriver. This time however, I was in a bit of a hurry and wanted to get the job done quickly. She looked discouraged, looked up at me and asked... "Mommy, why can't I screw?"

Since I was bending over anyway to look at what I was doing, I put my head down even further to hide my silent laughing. When composure was regained, I looked up at her and replied, "Because you're too young."
