Hi all, just thought I'd stop by and give everyone a shout.
I quit cold turkey on May 18......I'm now on day 9 of being smoke free. I couldn't see going on NRT and keeping nicotene in my body on a daily basis. In my mind that would be like going threw withdrawl daily ! I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel that way. Daily doses of Nic withdrawl didn't make sense. So here I am 9 days later and really not having a hard time at all. Don't get me wrong, the first 3 days were hell, but since then its just been about being stronger than my own mind. Everyone around me smokes except my Husband, so I have had my challenges. Its a mind set after the Nic leaves you. Then Its mostly habit after that. I find myself, especially when bored, starting to grab for my smokes that use to sit right next to me and I giggle...."I'm not a smoker anymore" What a great feeling. I smoked for over 35 years, so If I can do it, you all can too. Keep up the great work and the positive attitudes!!
