The secret is the Italian dressing!
1 lb ground beef.
1 pk taco seasoning mix
1 pk Good Seasons Italian dressing prepared as pkg directs
1 tub sour cream
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 jar salsa (as spicy as you like)
1 head of lettuce, chopped
1 bag Doritos (nacho ot taco are best)
Brown ground beef, drain off fat, add taco seasoning and stir to coal all the meat. Cool. Stir in all other ingredients EXCEPT the Doritos. Best if mixed when you are ready to eat or the lettuce gets soggy. Either crush chips on top when ready to serve or use whole chips as spoons and dig in.
I know it sounds weird but for years this was the only thing anyone wanted me to bring to potlucks. If you don't like salsa or wish for a drier salad, use chopped onions and tomatoes instead.
