THANK YOU NUMBER 1 FOR HAVING A CHRISTIAN GROUP ON HERE, I AM A 30 YEAR SMOKER THAT WANTS TO LIVE ALOT LONGER. I DESPISE THE CIGS AND LOVE THEM TO MY QUIT DATE IS JAN 31ST AND I NEED ALOT OF PRAYERS AND ENCOURAGMENT
You'll not have that love/hate relationship for very long. I smoked for over 30 years and thought I loved them too. I will say that it took doing something different this past quit to stay quit. Education and support. Joining this site is an incredible decision. It's a community that understands what you are going through every step of the way. There's nothing that you can think or do during the quit process that we have not already done. Believe me. An addict is an addict, Quitting our drug is quitting our drug. Detox is detox. Freedom is amazing...but you have to be willing to be uncomfortable and yes, even annoyed by the thoughts of smoking for a shortwhile, but does uncomfortable and annoying kill you? NO. Is the quit process doable especially when you know what to expect? YOU BET. Every day you are quit the brain and body are healing, every day you stay quit it gets easier and better. I can highly recommend going to www.whyquit.com. Excellent source about nicotine addiction. Reading the blogs here, the comments of others, their personal pages. It all feeds the sane part of your brain that says I don't need nicotine, I never did. Congratulations on returning to the body God wanted you to have and stop destroying it! :) Congratulations on quitting!!!!!
I will add you in my prayers sister Dee ;) we're in the same boat right now and my quit date is Nov. 1st. We can do this with our strong will to want to quit and great support.
