Has anyone noticed that you have had something similar to a sour/upset stomach after quitting? My stomach has been feeling queasy since yesterday.

Glad you are feeling somewhat better Mommyto6. I had a lot of heartburn the first few months after I quit, but I was going overboard eating chocolate as a cigarette replacement and once I cut out the excessive chocolate, it went away. So, as you indicated, your sour stomach might be from "food" such as your Dr. Pepper milkshake!! But, should it recur, Nancy YoungAtHeart has offered some good suggestions
A lot of us have had stomach issues after quitting. Nicotine sure does a lot in our bodies!
Anyway, I had to cut out all fizzy drinks and all fake sugars. I can't even begin to tell you how much that helped!
I'm definitely feeling better today. I haven't had anything but my usual cup of coffee and water. I don't eat much. Haven't really had any cravings, however when I do want to snack I'll eat an apple or orange. Thanks for youre assistance everyone. My sciatic nerve is acting up today. But that's normal for me, so blah! House everyone has a smoke free evening
Glad you hear that you are feeling better Mommyto6, you might want to try to eat several small meals in a day rather than not "eating much". We all have to have some food in our stomachs and not just fruit. Drink lots of water but also EAT several small but nutritious meals. Your stomach needs a bit of TLC too.

Glad to hear you are feeling better, I would say that if your stomach acids are out of balance for whatever reason , the dr pepper milkshake may have contributed. I have GERD, ulcers and stomach issues in general and I have not noticed them to be any worse since I quit smoking. What I have noticed is my taste buds changing. Twice since I quit smoking I have tried to eat favorite foods and my body said NO, it did not taste good, my stomach began to roll and I simply was not able to eat those things. When my stomach is bothering me I typically have something cold; such as a small amount of plain vanilla ice cream, or a glass of milk and it seems to work to calm my stomach. Sometimes I will have some ice chips. Incidentally, you mention having coffee, the caffeine can make stomach problems worse. Some of my medications increase my stomach problems and I have discovered that these problems are almost non-existent if I eat something, immediately before and after I take them. I don't know your situation as far as medications you may or may not take but it's something to think about.
I will need a bit more information from you to help. When did you quit? Are you using a quit aid? If so, which one? What strength are you using? How much were you smoking when you quit? For how long?
Nicotine does affect our digestive system, but I have not heard of a sour stomach being caused by it by itself. It more likely is being caused by an additional something.
Hope to hear back from you so I might help! Welcome!
Nancy
