How do you know if a video you uploaded will work BEFORE you post it?

To answer your question, there isn't a way to know for certain beforehand if a video upload won't work as there could be various reasons for failure. Especially for an uploaded video as it would need to be in a format that can be converted to one with the onsite player. From what I'm seeing there is some type of failure with the video conversion service that Jive uses to for uploading and hosting their videos.

But it does appear that embedding or providing a link to the videos you find in their original location is probably more reliable than uploading them right now.  So I recommend that route.  This way the original author gets credit for their content. Videos from YouTube are ideal as their uptime is really important to them and reliable since it is their primary focus, so if you use a video from one of the main video content providers, it will likely be playable on their site.
