Vocabulary Expansion Game

Can you help me expand my vocabulary?

I want to learn new words , what they mean and possibly a sentence .

I will start :

cavil: to raise trivial objections; also, a trivial objection.

He was determined not to be diverted from his main pursuit by cavils or trifles by someone named Bob.

cerulean: the blue of the sky

This is one of my favorite words and the color of my oldest daughter's eyes!

ubiquitous - being everywhere at the same time, omnipresent.

On this site, it feels like Man of Steel is ubiquitous.

Laura is blessing number 3, the firstborn of my husband and my first little girl (read "wahoo I'm having a GIRL!!"). She is 7 and the only one with eyes that blue, the others have green (2 of 'em), darker blue, and hazel.

I have very blue eyes too but she's got me beat.
Nothing I like better than a guy with cerulean eyes *wink*(don't tell my hazel eyed hubby) LOL

First of all, I'm confused about where I'm supposed to reply.

But anyway, here's my word.

Psuedopodicphobia.

Fear of false feet

Okay, so that's not actually an official word that you'll find in a dictionary, but you will find that all the latin roots exist!

Psuedo= false
Podic=feet
Phobia=fear

But if you do have a fear of prosthetic feet, that is what it would be called!

Here's another one

Pontificate

Expressing an opinion in a dogmatic way.

That really is a word!

You may have started something you're going to wish you hadn't started. I really like words!

hegemony: authority over others, dominant.

As in "I believe Tom Cruuise has a bizarre hegemony over his wife, Katie."
