How do y’all stop starting...
You mean how do we stop having another day one over and over? Commitment, perseverance and a willingness to go through whatever we have to go through for as long as it takes. We do it by studying our relapse traps and avoiding them in the beginning, until we learn how to handle them. And we do it by constant vigilance and quit maintenance. We do it by getting on here and reaching out for help BEFORE we put that next cigarette or vape in our mouths. And we do by adhering to the NOPE tenet. Follow those rules of engagement and you will never need go through another day one.

Here is a great blog to read.
Welcome to EX, you have gotten great advice. I quit unsuccessfully so many times that there is no way I could give you even an estimate. I came to this site every morning and every evening at the beginning of my quit, I read EVERYTHING, blogs, comments, backstories, EVERYTHING I could find. I was late to work a couple of times because of that and I could easily have that happen again. I looked to the people on this site for advice and support and I got both, I made a commitment to myself not to smoke...NO MATTER WHAT. I made NOPE my mantra, Not One Cigarette Ever and I accepted the fact that smoking had never done anything FOR me but it sure had done a lot TO me. It gets easier and when it's hard, we are here to help you get through.
NOPE no matter what. Not one puff ever. No matter death, divorce sickness, job loss. bill dues, happy-sad lonely tired. NOPE, no EXcuses is how we do it. Making a vow and keeping it.
Yes I keep telling myself not even one...
