Once you get started.

Once we decide to stop smoking, It becomes so hard.,Because of the fears of not having a cig at that specific time of day or night. . ie  not going to sleep without having a fresh pack available. Come discuss the fears of quitting.

my fear isn't quitting..i fear that i won't be able to quit. my emotions are getting the best of me. my friends on my facebook are supportive and i've inspired 2 people to go see their doctors and quit. now i can't complain about quitting cause i dont want to scare them away from the idea..haha! i've been smoking non-stop for 26 years. i started as a young teen and know no other way of life. 9 looooong days..i take it one day at a time. it just seems like 30 days is sooo far off!

DAY FIFTY FOUR CLOSE THE DOOR!  As I close in on 60 days of being smoke free.I am prepared to be free from nicotine, also. I have been wearing the patch since March second, Eight weeks to complete the therapy, and I must say if you are having a problem with QUITTING I  suggest  Using an NRT. Be it gum or the patch. I used the patch  it has helped me tremendously.  As I close the door on this part of the journey another door opens, Only this is a journey I willingly take. It requires all of my confidence that I can successfully continue to QUIT without  NICOTINE.. I  know  this will be the longest road to hoe this will be a journey for life that shall never end.  I will do whatever it takes to stay an EX. I will be chewing a lot of gum, SUGARLESS,   I will eat healthy , keep my weight down. I will exercise more .  You have just heard my version of closing the DOOR! GOOD LUCK TO US ALL.

DAY SIXTY  I'm here at sixty days, I'm pround of myself, but that's enough celebration, It's back to work. If you don't know about addiction, you should. I have to stay in the QUIT mode at all times, This addiction  never stops it is always trying to get us back in the trap of NICO, So sixty days is definitely a good thing , but I to must always keep progressing  in my QUIT. Each day I Learn something about my addiction.  And most of all I learn a lot about myself . Today I learned that anger is a luxury I can't afford,  So lets work on the Quit. Remember Relapse is reality not a REQUIREMENT. Never stop QUITTING! GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

There are those unfortunate individuals who will smoke again,  it's not that they don't get it. they simply are not ready to QUIT. And these are the individuals who need our help the most. We can't be  caught up in our own smoke free world. where we forget that we once struggled and maybe decided to QUIT but we fought our way through  the smoke. We are all just a puff away from relapse. Lets be informative to the person who ADMITTED that he or she smoked.  Tell them how you QUIT and how you are maintaining your smoke free life.  Remember It's not how many days you got but how far you have come.  CHEW  GUM SUGARLESS. GOD BLESS US ALL.

Actually Everything is going great., I can't believe How far I have come in such a short time.  I am truly enjoying the journey of a lifetime, It's ok to have fun along the way. Yesterday I was a bit  uneasy,, Because I am experiencing my first national holiday smoke free.  It's ok  I'm fine and living well and smoke free. Everything i was going through was due to my addiction to nicotine. My mind was telling me it's ok  you can do this. And it was and still is ok. I thought something had to go wrong, Because things are going so right., So I'm going to continue to do what I do best. CHEW GUM SUGARLESS,, Come here for feedback, and continue on my journey. GOOD LUCK TO US ALL..

It's easy to say that. But unless we are spiritually fit we will give into the triggers and the urges to light up. As we all travel a different road on the journey of QUIT, I say a prayer daily , I know that there is a higer power helping me to maintain a smoke free life. For I could not do this alone, So I ask GOD to help keep me smoke free. Praying is a strong tool in any jouirney to the road of recovery. So I know that some of the triggers to lead me back to smoking are PEOPLE PLACES AND THINGS. I don't go out when the rest of my co-workers go on break to smoike. I have no reason to be out there at that perticular time. See people and places,  Why put my self in harms way?  I want my QUIT to be as painless as possible. I will be damned if I bring the pain and struggles of addiction back into my life because I smelled a cigarette! When I was younger I actually began to smoke because it looked KOOL! Smoking is no longer glamorous It dangerous. If I find myself wanting to smoke, I say a prayer and CHEW GUM SUGARLESS, and drink a nice cool drink of water. Remember H.A.L.T when we are HUNGRY. ANGRY.LONELY.TIRED. this is the time that we are most likely to give into temptations. Stay strong I will pray for you too. GOD BLESS US ALL WITH ANOTHER DAY SMOKE FREE JUST FOR TODAY

DAY 98 THE REWARD

I went shopping today. Back in april as I was completing my PATCH therapy,   It was suggested to me by the EXplan to rerward myself for not smoking., Well today I went and got a ring I had put in layaway on April 3rd. Exactly one month after my Quit date which was March 2nd.  It feels real good to be able to reward yourself for an accomplishment which is very difficult .  I feel good about my QUIT, and I am proud of what I have acheived. Now I had to work to get this ring , It took 65 days to get this ring, It will take me a lifetime to to complete my journey of QUITTING. My first and my last reward. So If you are reading this treat yourself to something good.  Because we all have worked hard to QUIT and maintain our QUIT .  I chose to buy a ring than cigarettes.   In my lifetime of smoking  I smoked a down payment to a home LOL.  GOD BLESS US ALL WITH ANOTHER SMOKE FREE DAY!

DAY 99 POUND FOR POUND!

As I continue my journey I have made a few stops along the way,  I stopped to pick up a few pounds here and there. It was not a big surprise, I try to eat right and chew SUGARLESS GUM, And SUGARLESS candies.  That's all well and good but I also picked up a few lessons along the way.  I found that I was eating late at night, after eleven O'Clock. and then go back to bed. Sometimes I will get up at two or three in the morning, and make a sandwich.  This was some of the sametimes I would get up and smoke. Lesson I learned was to drink a glass of cold water before I went to bed,. Here's what's funny I don't be hungry, This nicotine addiction is so poewrful, It plays on the mind. I've traded food for cigarettes. So now I know where I am headed on the next leg of my journey.  More exercise, More water, eat in moderation, This will take a lot of work. But It will be DONE!  I charted all of my behaviors and this was my conclusion.  Smoking through eating will eventually happend. It's not what I eat, But How much!   GOOD LUCK TO US ALL.
