Maybe this will help:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYZ8g8YG6fo   Generally speaking CTRL (or Command) C copies and CTRL (Command V) Pastes.  So first you highlight what what you want to copy then paste it into where you want it.  Also, you might try using a mouse. Highlight with the mouse, then right click the mouse and select copy or paste.

I know nothing about Mac but you can generally google a question and get good answers to whatever you need to do.
