Post ONE Quit Tip for the day :
1. You can or you can't ( stop smoking ) because you will or you won't
2. If you think you can or think you can't, you're right - Henry Ford.
3. SINAO smoking is not an option.
Breathe in Breath out
5. Don't buy any cigarettes
NOPE not one puff ever no matter what is happening in your life.
Do it for yourself.
Use of tobacco is wacko!
In order to get to you have to go through.
NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF EVER.
Quitting takes putting “ one foot in front of the other “ baby steps
One day at a time. One moment if necessary.
Left wondering whose alphabet we are using??!!!
Sorry - got me blogs mixed up - it happens!
Don't "TRY" to quit, "DECIDE" to quit.
There is no LUCK or TRY in quitting, there is only DO!
Keep them away from your face.
Chin up deep breaths and keep plowing forward so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON....
You are greater than your addiction.
I don't DO that anymore.
A little bit of Vicks Vapor rub under the nose helps take edge off of a crave ( did for me anyway)
Me too! Still use it.
Deep breaths and believe in yourself
What your mind can conceive, you can achieve!
Have another day WON instead of day ONE
Smoking does not one thing FOR you and so much TO you.
Never give up, never give in, protect your quit.
As no one is responsible for your own happiness, no one is responsible for your quit, but yourself.
A thought is not a call to action; just because you might think about lighting up a cigarette doesn't mean you need to!
If you truly believe and want it - you WILL achieve it!
When my mind thinks of wanting to smoke , I counter with "I don't do that anymore". Then go blow bubbles.
Is what you're doing right this minute helping you to achieve the goals you've set for yourself?
In that same vein, when you want to do something, like smoke, or tackle a project you know is too big for you, ask yourself, "Is this in my LONG TERM best interest?" Most things we want to do may be in our short term best interest - long term usually not so much!
Get rid of ALL smoking paraphernalia....including your secret stash you've kept for an emergency
If I smoke just one , I will be back to where I started~
Desperately wishing to be where I am now
the first thing you need to do is to decide you are quitting and sticking to it!
Not only are there monetary and health reasons to quit smoking, you need to remember your own self-worth. This you do for you.
Change and choice are constant challenges of a purpose filled life.. Never quit quitting! ✌ Peace to all!
When you are triggered or want to smoke tell yourself "I don't do that anymore. What should I do instead?" It sets your mind up to think of something to do. Then go DO IT! Just don't smoke.
When the crave arises, place your mind outside it, and just observe it; it will approach, it will grow to the point of taking your breath away, but then it will break and wash away in small pieces, not able to hurt you in any way. Make it a game, don't fight it, don't be inside it, but outside, the neutral observer. It won't hurt you anymore, never.
Acknowledge that urge. Ride it out. Now acknowledge that you did that. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Never take your quit for granted. Do what is necessary to NOPE, no matter what is happening in your life smoking will not fix it.
Not Never! Must!!
When you get an urge, distract, distract, distract. Don't give the urge a chance to talk to you. Grab a piece of paper and write down 6 random alphabet letters. Don't think too hard...use "random" if you want...then
write down as many words as you can make from those 6 letters. By the time you're stumped you will probably wonder why you were doing this little exercise to start with.
I have been taught here when the crave hits, to start looking around me for all things red, look for the color red. If necessary continue changing to look for the color blue. The exercise never fails to help. It takes longer to record all the objects around us which are either red or blue, than it takes the crave to die.
Repeat as necessary the following breathing exercise; keep looking at the image how it changes colors, and you will feel yourself calmer, and over the crave, eventually.
