Post ONE Quit Tip for the day :
1. You can or you can't ( stop smoking ) because you will or you won't
When the crave arises, place your mind outside it, and just observe it; it will approach, it will grow to the point of taking your breath away, but then it will break and wash away in small pieces, not able to hurt you in any way. Make it a game, don't fight it, don't be inside it, but outside, the neutral observer. It won't hurt you anymore, never.
Never take your quit for granted. Do what is necessary to NOPE, no matter what is happening in your life smoking will not fix it.
When you get an urge, distract, distract, distract. Don't give the urge a chance to talk to you. Grab a piece of paper and write down 6 random alphabet letters. Don't think too hard...use "random" if you want...then
write down as many words as you can make from those 6 letters. By the time you're stumped you will probably wonder why you were doing this little exercise to start with.
I have been taught here when the crave hits, to start looking around me for all things red, look for the color red. If necessary continue changing to look for the color blue. The exercise never fails to help. It takes longer to record all the objects around us which are either red or blue, than it takes the crave to die.
2. If you think you can or think you can't, you're right - Henry Ford.
