It works, especially if you are putting in your all to make it work! It is a great place to obtain all the necessary tools/information to help you in your journey! I have been quit for 295 days, I quit just before finding this place, and am I ever glad I found it! Not sure if I would have stuck with it without the support and information I got from EX!
I hope you are ready make this great decision to quit for yourself! It is so worth it!

Keep on keepin on,
Welcome to EX, if you are serious about quitting and if you are willing to go through the issues associated with quitting...yes, this works. No program quits FOR you but no program makes you smoke either. Quitting is a journey and not an event...it is one day at a time, sometimes, one moment at a time.
The best things you can do are to educate yourself about this addiction, you can read Allen Carr's "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" which you can probably get from your local library or buy on line for a small fee. I don't agree with the title because I don't believe there IS an easy way to quit smoking, at least that has not been my experience. I suggest you make a plan for your quit...My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX Come up with things to do INSTEAD of smoking...build yourself a tool kit, here are some suggestions from a blog by YoungAtHeart /blogs/Youngatheart.7.4.12-blog/2013/02/25/100-things-to-do-instead-of-smoke Also by YoungAtHeart is this blog which is wonderful and has great comments on it...For Our New Years' Quitters (and community members, too) I read the following blog by JonesCarpeDiem over and over again when I first quit.../blogs/jonescarp.aka.dale.Jan_2007-blog/2011/06/26/what-to-expect-in-the-first-four-months I came to this site every morning and every evening and I read blog after blog after blog trying to figure out how other people were quitting successfully. There are people here who are at all different places in their quits from hours to years and we all learn from each other.
If you do the reading and education and make the commitment...YES, this site works. It worked for me started over four years ago after I had smoked for 47 years and tried countless times to quit.
Again, welcome.
Ellen
Responding to comments and engaging in conversations here will absolutely work to help you quit!
YES! After 40+ years of smoking, I am 607 days of free, and am still taking one smoke free day at a time! It wasn't easy, but I am more than appreciative to this site. There's so many resources that are offered, take advantage of everything! Were ALL here for you!
Best successful struggle I did for myself!

It works if you are willing to do what is necessary to make it work. Education is the key to a successful quit. Start at the beginning. My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX Learn your triggers, watch the videos and become acquainted with maneuvering around the site. Community Help. Learn about nicotine addiction. Several easy reads I have found on www.whyquit.com, "A Journey to Freedom Home and Nicotine 101. There is an experience group here with success of over 1 yr or more quit who assist 'a newbie" They are called Elders /blogs/Giulia-blog/2017/06/18/elders-list-ao-december-7-2016?sr=search&searchId=d8e07bf2-9662-4f0a-9.... Welcome to EX. This is a journey, I suggest you take it one day at time.
Being around other quitters has helped me to stay a former smoker, grow stronger in my quit. Yes, you can find a lot to grow a quit on by being with former smokers. It'll still be your own quit.
