Need help today. Trying not to slip.
Tell us what's going through your head. Are you having cravings? Is it a stressful day? If so talk about it. How many days in are you? What day are you on? And what is your plan for when cravings or stress hit?
Hang in there. Take deep breaths, drink some ice water, go for a walk. Remember the reasons why you have quit. You do not want to start back at day 1. How many days are you? Stay tough!
Thank you. I am on day 4. Looked over my quit plan, had a bottle of water, grabbed my straw cigg. it's passing. Thank you for your encouragement.

Just chiming in to add my support. You did the right thing to blog when you needed help; not when it's too late. Like stated earlier, stay on the site and read to reinforce your quit. I really helps me to get through a rough moment.
Hi. today is my quit day and I have been so happy til now. For the last 20 minutes all I can think about is you know what. I came here, read something, looked at everything red and blue at my work and am chewing furiously on a straw. It's a little monster inside trying to convince you to have just that one. I keep repeating the reasons why I quit. I know that ONE DAY will change everything. It's just one day. I'm thinking about it too much! Thank you all!
tessoshea Congrats on your first day! I see you have done your reading. One minute, one hour, one day at a time.
That little monster you are talking about is your addiction and it will say and do anything to get you back...if one day at a time is too long, go for one hour or one minute...dance, do jumping jacks, drink ice water, breathe in deeply and exhale slowly...the crave WILL pass and will likely be followed by another one...stay close and distract yourself in whatever way you can think of...READ EVERYTHING HERE...Youngatheart.7.4.12 posted this and it has helped many people...101 Things to Do Instead of Smoke
Hang on...even if it seems like it is by your fingernails sometimes. It DOES get easier...

smokeless11 Hang in there...I PROMISE you that it gets better. I remember thinking people were crazy when they kept telling me that and my response was WHEN??? Unfortunately, there is no time limit...it seems to vary for all of us but it DOES happen, there are no shortcuts, you can't skip over the hard parts but they DO make you stronger and stronger. We have all been through it...ALL of us!
Thanks for the encouragement. Learning to take one day at a time.
Yes! One day at a time. Congrats on all the progress you've made in your smobriety.
Sorry, you are having a stressful day here is a list of things that you can do to distract you.100+ Things to do instead of smoking
Quitting is not easy but it is doable by using that principle and educating yourself about nicotine addiction. If you hang around you will see that yes you can and will. Look toward a new way of life that does not include smoking. It is all up to you and what you are willing to do to be smoke-free. Quitting smoking requires hard work and determination not to give up. It can be challenging at times but you will learn that it is doable if you adhere to NOPE not one puff ever no matter what.
Start first, by educating yourself about nicotine addiction because education is the key to a successful quit.

I also encourage you to read. Allen Carr’s book, “Easy Easier Way to Quit Smoking”.
The best is yet to come.
Welcome to EX...PLEASE accept that smoking will do NOTHING FOR you but it will do LOTS to you and none of it is good. PLEASE...do the reading, I suggest reading a blog by jonescarp.aka.dale.Jan_2007 What To Expect In The First Four Months and another by Youngatheart.7.4.12 which is a great blog and has wonderful comments. The more you know about this addiction, the easier it will be...I am not saying EASY, I am saying easier. It is not an event, it is a one day at a time journey. I said NOPE, Not One Puff Ever over and over and over again at the beginning of my quit and I was on this site every morning and every evening and between the site and the people here, I have been able to nurture a successful quit for over four years and believe me, I had many challenges. I KNEW smoking did not help with stress or pain or sadness or anger or ANYTHING and I also knew that FEELING emotions was normal...dulling them with smoking was not. You can do this, please stay close and know that we all started at the beginning, there are no short cuts...no crave ever killed anyone but no one can say that about smoking...NO ONE.
