I am planning to put patch at night so that it's already 8 hours when I get up. and no craving in morning. is it good strategy.

Excited for you, remember we are here and please stay close. You CAN do this, God IS with you, he is with ALL of us on our journeys.
Best,
Ellen
Every time you want to smoke say
"I don't do that anymore"
This will retrain your thinking and initiate acceptance of not smoking more quickly.
I started with the patch at night and continued 24/7 for about 45 days. I used them for both the physiological and psychological dependence. I stopped using them after I forgot to put it on one day and realized I was FREE!
You got this, so enjoy the journey and share with us your success

day second started. patch on for 24 hours. no craving. very comfortable. I used crave when I was smoking even every hour. but now pretty relax. thanks pal.
ampan75 I am so proud of you and so happy for you...keep taking this one step at a time, they can be baby steps. You CAN do this and we all want you to succeed. Your attitude sounds wonderful, that is HUGE. No crave is going to kill you or last forever, no one can say the same thing about smoking. You are going forward and that is the important thing and, you know what? You are already helping others...those behind you AND those ahead of you. Your contributions are very, very important.
Best,
Ellen
Hi! Phycological was my main concern too, so I keep the patch on the 24 hours. My routine was pretty set in concrete wake up, grab my coffee and off I was outside for a smoke (all within 5 minutes). I didn't want to give one inch to my cravings, I didn't trust myself. Fast forward to day 27 for me today and I would be open to start taking off the patch at bedtime now that my morning routine has changed.
To Dale's point, YES I did have some crazy VIVID dreams, but I actually like them.. I dream of people I haven't thought of in YEARS and YEARS... LOL
Best of luck to YOU and congratulations for making the leap! Stay close to this support group like I did and you will do great.
I think the patch helped me. Remember though the patch is just an aid most of quitting comes from your knowledge of addiction and as much as you can learn about quitting to stay confident.
:-)
I didn't smoke while I slept so I could never understand needing nicotine while I slept.
The patch takes about 45 minutes to kick in so I just put one on in the morning.
Some people have disturbingly vivid dreams. They leave the patch off at night.
Onward and upward.
