Hahahaha, I was just singing this song as I was sweeping my porch, no snakes but DAILY spider webs....eeeeewwww. I am so afraid of spiders and the idea that I might bring one inside on the broom. I am sure my neighbors think I am nuts hitting the broom against the railing and making sure there is nothing hiding in it.
Then I guess my bug vacuum wouldn't work for you??? It's the neatest thing. It's like a mini-vacuum with a clear glass tube, and a cover. You just gently suck the suckers into it - then release them back outside. It saves you from cleaning the innards off your walls, too!
Youngatheart.7.4.12 How long is the tube? I could get one for my husband, he catches them in glasses or bowls and puts them outside...so they can walk back in.
It's about about 12 inches. I especially like it for getting those flies that always seem to find their way to my top bedroom window and buzz continuously when I am trying to go to sleep. You can reach them with one of these. It works on spiders and moths, too.
Youngatheart.7.4.12 I hope you are enjoying the beach, I am SO JEALOUS but so happy for you. I will have to look for one...Amazon? Does it have a name?
Bug Wand, I think. Be careful, though - there are some that zap them and you don't want that!!!
;-)
(I have now been down to the water's edge twice on my crutches. I just walk them over the soft sand - and there is a good amount of well packed sand where I can use them - and by the water's edge is fine, too. The water is actually warmer than the air today!)
elvan - Get some peppermint oil and put a few drops in a spray bottle with some water and spray it around your doors and windows. I have not seen a single spider inside my apartment since I did that.
Someone else told me that a long time ago and I will have to try it...my allergies were horrible this past weekend at work and someone recommended that I put a little bit of peppermint oil under my nose and that it might help. I was either sneezing or trying NOT to sneeze. Thanks, I know there is a little shop that opened in town where I can probably get some.
WOW, I will check there, I have never looked for essential oils there...that IS what it is, right? Do you know the approximate measurements...how much oil to water?
no I do not know the ratio - I added a few drops to about 2 cups of water. Not much is needed and I have had spider problems since I moved here 3 years ago. Yes it is essential oils - wasn't looking for it either just happened across it.
Jennifer-Quit-05-01-14 Okay, thanks, I will look for some, I got some sort of dirt that was recommended by someone on here...named Judy, but it doesn't work if it gets wet so that made it unusable for doorways and I worry about the basement door as well as any other doors to the outside.

I cleaned out my pantry Friday and yesterday. There were spiders hiding between the cans and webs under every shelf. It WAS NASTY.
Got rid of everything before 2016. Threw out at least 100 pounds of cans and jars.
OMG...I would have to MOVE.
I got some old washcloths and went a smashing.
I can't get that close to them...even a broom is stretching it. We are talking serious arachnophobia here.

I was betting I was faster than pantry spiders.
Well, I KNOW I am not...
what a cute song and video !

I found mine at Wal Mart - you might check there too. Probably less expensive than a little shop. It was in the area of the OTC meds.
