oops...guess i need to learn how to post a funny image on this site
Please try posting again... you have to use the box at the right of the formatting menu on the comment box. I usually copy the direct link from photobucket to the image properties box that says "URL" and click ok.
I'm hoping that your 'catchy title' is my ticket for inspiration for quitting, FINALLY! I'm still not positive how this site works, but look forward to any helpful suggestions from my new friends here!
I LVE TH PCTURE IAM PRINTING IT OUT TO STICK ON MY MIRROR.. INSPIRATION I HOPE ..... GOOD LUCK
Hi Sandy and Martha - Welcome!
Sandy, I just created a forum page titled How to Navigate this Site - hope it helps :-)
Martha, thank you, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!
BEST IN 2010!
Thanks for this group you guys... I love humor especially when I am doing something that is scary.
One of my favorite sayings I heard 30yrs ago. YOU ARE SMARTER THAN A BUNCH OF BUTTS!
I should have listened back then.
"The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach." – Benjamin Mays
For those tough times ahead just know that someone else is having a painful day too...LOL
Thanks for the e-mail, Tiff. I'm still not positive this will work for me, call it 'Doubting Thomas' syndrome, I guess!
I appreciate anything helpful anyone is willig to share with me. I'm pretty frustrated, since the Chantix didn't do its job for me, thinking I'm a pretty hopeless case, --doomed!
I really like the quote about goals. I had made my goal to quit Jan 1. Well I'm still smoking. New goal Feb 1. Going to get more prepared.
Hello everyone. New today. I've been planning my quit day for today and I joined today. Wish me luck and good luck to you. I love the quote - you are smarter than a bunch of butts.
If it will help anyone, I have 4 MAIN reasons for quitting. 1) my health, 2) it STINKS!, 3) my granddaughter and 4) I'm tired of carrying around the ball and chain.
its been 2 days NO cigaretts still thinking about it all the time
I quit smoking at least 5 times a year but every time I go longer, I quit for 6 months in 2008, 6 months in 2009 plus a few months here and there, I am sick of going through the withdraw, I need to do this once and for all. It has been 2 days smoke free and I have only had a few pieces of nic gum.
Into my 3rd day & so far so good...I'm a lifetime smoker/quitter myself & exhausted from my ball & chain, it seems to get heavier to drag around as the years go on!
Here's a cute little game I found on the Nicorette Website when I was searching for some help materials...before I found this site that is!
Its dumb but will help pass the time & you may even get a little chuckle out of it!
Chin up my friends!
Risk more than others think is safe, care more than others think is wise.Dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible.
peace you all-hang in there!!
I just joined this site today... need to pick my quit date and am not sure what day to pick... any suggestions or ideas?? have tried many times to quit and I really need this to work this time..... oh my name is Jan by the way :)
I joined this site about 5 days ago. The first thing I've learned is that tracking my cigarettes requires a full-time data entry clerk. This is nuts! I'm disgusted by how much I smoke but seem to be smoking more since I started tracking. maybe its fear of quiting. Any other 2 packers out there? Help!
4th day nicotine free !!!!!
Had to laugh at the "Man, could I kill a human right now" cartoon!
Newbie here, looking for the lighter side of it all - think I might just of stumbled across it! Sending off that cartoon to my "present smoker" buddies, although I think they'll not laugh at it the same way I did.....
Check it out... audio is a little low but its pretty good.
Five days since I quit. I think of ways to resist smoking.
I have been quit for 11 days. I am on Chantix and has helped but side effects can be a little rough. I enjoyed this group due to the laughter which helps me get through the cravings.
Past history, quit for 14 years, smoked for 8 then quit for 9 months, smoked for 13 months and then quit for 1 month and been off and on again 2 weeks here 3 weeks for quite a while now (6 months to be exact),but I always started back. This time i am looking to make this permanent.
I quit for eleven days cold turkey. I have smoked for forty years!!! But smoked 2 yesterday and stopped by the store on the way home today and bought a pack, have smoked about five so far since I got home...I did okay at first, but the last couple of days, was just going nuts!
Should I try nicorite gum or cold turkey tomorrow... I need to quit damn it!!!
okay this is going to be my first day without a cigarette
ok, one week to go till my date..I'm already nervous about it, but i have been making a conscious effort to cut back the last couple of weeks, and I"m now down to half a pack :)
I just thought I'd share this video with you guys. I made it waay back in the day when I was in college for multi-media design. It was a class project - so it does not infringe on copy right. :)
hi there is no easy way to quit , i quit for 6 mon's went back to smoking 4 weekes ago, going to get chantix again, good luck to all.
Day 26. Doing okay. Some moments are worse than others.
I am praying I'll find something funny about this process yet.
I have laughed at a lot of Heavy stuff in my life.
But here I am posting "it's been an hour"."it's 22hours"
and here I go again
It Has been 76 Hours for this 3.5 pack a day smoker..
Do the lozenges have to be prescribed? I want to try them.
no the Lozenges you can get at wall mart? i live in Arkansas i got my for free, good luck. State lite
I am on day 2...wow it is so wierd to say that..wait write that...wait type that. Sorry slow morning for me. It's wierd I am so use to getting up durring a commerical or pausing TV show and heading out to smoke. But it is actually more than that I can actually feel the craving for the smoke. I have been reading all kinds of sites and really have begun to wonder WTF did they put in the smokes...I started smoking when I was 17 I am now 41. They actually had a smoking street at my high school. Hubby has been smoking since 14 he is 47. So that is 50 some odd years. We have been married 13 years both married before so by divorce we have Exs, but now we will be EXers!!
So I cam to this site because I could really use to laughter to keep me an EX.
Hello all. New to this group. I like to read positive/funny things on this site. Laughter can be the best medicine.
Here's an affirmation. I now release all things that no longer serve my higher good.
good job jeannie,
I chose this picture because it made me laugh and lighten up about how hard quitting smoking was. The thought of being a so-called "Butthead" wasn't that appealing and smoking didn't seem so attractive all of a sudden.
I forgot my explanation. I chose this pic because of it's humor. It also has a message about expense. Gonna keep looking til I find one that is totally awesome. Thanks for all your fun, ideas Tiffany. Imagery always works for me.
I chose this one because it was too cute not too. Hope you like.
Hi Tiffany I need to get my daughter to help me with the pics as I don't know how to do this. I like butthead.
I just printed it....Good incentive..which I am in dire need of! Thanks!
My first few days of my quit and it is tough!!!!!
This is how I feel A lot of the time :-)
that is so cute MissiAnn
Aww that one with the dog is the best lol
These are great!

I chose this picture because.... Everyday is a good...no GREAT day to quit smoking. Quit dates are very resourceful for quitting but just remember that you can quit and be successful whenever you want to be. :)
Because that's exactly what the first puff of the first cigarette I ever tasted felt like.
I quit over a year ago, hope I can support others trying to do the same, and have a giggle too!!
I am a quitter, day three so far
