Self talk can work wonders if you try it. Practice makes perfect. When the urge hits
Say
Self, you don't do that anymore.
Self, you don't want to breathe that smoke.
Self, if you take that one puff it is all over. NOPE
Self. you can do this.
Self, if you are tired, hungry, anxious, address those issues and you will be okay"
Make today a smoke free day.
Tomorrow may never come
We are conquerers!!
Great blog. Self talk worked for me many times. Even if I said it out loud and people tooked at me funny, I didn't care as long as it worked.
Everyone have a wonderful smoke free Friday.

God has entrusted you for a short period of time with your one and only body! Take Care of it! He expects no less from me!
Great reminder of something else I can do besides smoke!
Thanks Jackie. This is a great reminder. In fact before I got on here today, I was telling myself that I'm glad I don't smoke anymore! I'm at 121 beautiful smoke free days. Happy Friday, everyone! CP
Yep - I decided that it is just as easy to talk myself out of smoking than it is to talk myself into it. For a long time I would literally look into a mirror and give myself a pep talk - lol!
EXactly! Works much better than fighting with yourself.
Now I have a real reason for talking to myself!
