Coffee

Quitting smoking and eliminating coffee/caffeine at the same time was not the best idea I've ever had. I'm not even a huge coffee drinker, but withdrawing from both substances at once made for one very unhappy, headachey Ellen.  So, coffee has been reintroduced.  I'm drinking some now, as a matter of fact!  It does kick up the urge to smoke, but it's not unbearable.  Some of the brain fog and near-constant headache has receded. Hallelujah!

Like others have mentioned, I needed to change my routine with respect to coffee and cigarettes (which, I believe is the title to a Jim Jarmusch movie that I liked). I would usually set up shop at the kitchen table with my coffee, cigs, ashtray, laptop and phone. Yesterday and this morning, I 'unplugged' and went into the living room with my coffee and began reading a book I just got this week.  I still had the urge to smoke, but since I was doing something other than the usual routine, it wasn't too bad. Plus, I got quite a bit of reading in, which I love to do, but find myself distracted from by technology. So, it was nice.

Tomorrow will be one week. Whoo!
