24 days of freedom

Well today I am 24 days cigarette free and actually realise I have freedom from the coughing , wheezing and stink of smoking. I must say that this time round (its my 3rd attempt) is going really well only the occasional craving for a cigarette. What i realise now is that I was addicted more to the motion or habit of lighting a cigarette than the nicotine. Once I was able to identify my triggers and what would make me go into the motion of lighting up that gave me the control of being able to identify that now I would have light a smoke and stopped myself doing so.

Another great tool in quitting was getting a nicotine patch. Previously I thought I didnt need nicotine replacement meds etc but putting the patch on was a great tool as if you smoke with the patch on you are in serious risk of damaging yourself, this knowledge helped me stop completely.

I am so thankful to all of you that with your kind words and daily encouragement allowed me to quite may God bless you all

i am a musician and biker at heart. I have a gorgeous little daughter who I treasure with all my heart, she is one of the main reasons for me stopping smoking. i want to walk her down the isle one day. My wife is a smoker which is a challenge but she supports my quit. I had a really big scare on the 2nd Jan 2017 where I stopped breathing everytime I fell asleep and had bad chest pains throughout the night, this was the time to say enough. I am getting healthy again and i am back at gym and enjoying the benefits daily of stopping smoking. Onwards and upwards.
