So happy to share today!  I am about to have a "proper" bathroom at last - woo hoo. Two and a half years ago, I bought a very tiny, like 625 sq ft tiny, house and the only thing that almost stopped me was that I hated the bathroom. It just about measures 5' x 4 1/2', so yes, no tub, just a shower stall, loo and sink.  I've done some pretty major upgrading each year (I save hard) and this is my year of the tub!!!!  I am ecstatic;  it's going to be messy, some walls moved but will be sooo worth it to me.  Funny, the neurologist said take Epsom Salts soaking baths 3 times a week (which I totally believe in) and I almost cried - can't do that..... yet.  Last couple of years I've managed to help my legs by soaking them in Epsom Salts, up to my knees in a 5 gallon bucket - good old Home Depot.  I can't wait to sit in my tub.

So, the main reason I am posting this, apart from the fact that it's fun to share, is that my helper/handyman/construction  guy - Brian - smokes.  He came by at the first of the month to assess the job and  he always lights up (outside only) as soon as he gets out of his truck.  I was curious to see how it would be for me to have that so close so I didn't tell him until about five minutes into the visit. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't bother me or set off any "wants" - so cool.

The last unexpected rainy weekend followed by Mother's day weekend delayed our start but..... tomorrow he starts the work - drum roll please!  He came by yesterday and he walked around a bit and then declared "you've got this smoking thing haven't you", a big grin from me, "I can't find any ash trays!"  So I dug out the glass one I kept back for visitors

Interestingly, not once has the smell of others' smoking triggered anything!  When I have had bothersome stuff it has been when no-one was around and even those times are definitely easier and fewer now; it feels fantastic to really see that I don't smoke any more and I don't want to either!  Onward and forward......

I am a transplant from England and came to California in 1973; became a citizen in 1985. I have promised myself I would be a happy non-smoker by my 70th birthday or sooner - April is getting close! I started smoking at age 15 and like many others have tried to stop several times. This time I have a very different attitude and I am looking at this as a positive move to regaining my freedom as opposed to losing something by giving it up.
